thanks very much guys

carl, its a 1993.. soa fair few years
but only 65k miles

Scho, looks pretty good to me. You need a new PAS bottle though wink

i gave it all a clean mainly the black rubber and plastic with a basic trim cleaner
manifold, cam cover and vanity cover were powder caoted or painted
new braided fuel lines
throttle body cleaned up with wire brushes
generally though it was all in reaonsbly good nick to start with
there are a nuber of brackets that I intend to go and get plated. I wire brushe dthem clean but then have corroded again already and need proper plating.

the thing is, it gets obsessive
the suspension annoys me cos its all a bit rank
so next year at some point i plan to replate/powder coat the hubs, spindles, uprights, wishbones, trailing arms, springs, torsion beam etc..
after that the only old looking stuff will be the power steering stuff, gearbox and diff, oil cooler, heater matric etc.. but you rarely see any of this stuff so it has a right to look a bit manky

other pics ?
well nothing exciting im afraid
refrubed the rear brakes from this:

to this:

also, scraped clean, sanded and then painted the wheelarch liners. Wish id taken a before picture, they were disgusting:

If you think you're obsessive take a look at what my colleague Kev's done to his 309 GTi:

sterling work cool

the braided fuel lines look great and the finish on the rocker etc is really nice.

heres where i'm going to sound stupid:

you know that disc thing next to your dipstick (brake booster?) what didn't you whip it off and paint it? pita?

yes i could have done

teh car need sot get to a specialist soon though to have some stuff done so I was anxious to finish up before i go abroad for xmas

when i come back it will be having new dampers, possibly new top mounts, a new chip and I will finish the engine bay, plating a few brackets and also tackling that brake booster. You are so right, it looks VERY manky.

Where do you get your blasing done or do you have your own cabinet?

Do you, they, do bead blasting for finer cleaning.

I need some work done?

I'm not far from you.
