Oh, wow. 115mph. I'm impressed. Not.

And now, reading the ENTIRE section that you quoted part of:

About a dozen automotive JOURNALISTS tested the 500-horsepower GT this week at GingerMan Raceway in this western Michigan town on Lake Michigan. To gauge the two-seater's handling and ride, some reached speeds of 115 miles (185 kilometers) per hour on the 1.9-mile (3.05-kilometer) road course.

At 160 kph (100 mph) in third gear, the car was still manageable on the road course, with very responsive steering. It has six gears and can reach more than 320 kph (200 mph).

And what a pile of steaming horse manure that review was. What relevance did the gear in which they reached 100mph have? Was it manageable at 100mph in 3rd, but completely awfull at 100mph in 4th or 5th?

And what does "manageable" mean in this context? I suspect it means a dimwitted hack managed to keep it on the road at a ton, despite only ever having reviewed a Kia Pride for the local papers motoring column.

I'm no fan of Ford's, even their best offerings leave me cold, rice power all the way for me.

BUT the new GT is a nice piece of kit. I've never driven one, and probably won't, but from what I've heard it'll do as the original and give the limping donkey something to worry about.

I'm not a yank-ofile either (before anyone says it) but a good car is a good car, credit where it is due.
