Just bought this as a run-around.....
It's a 1993 320iSE in Sterling Silver. I'm planning a few sensible modifications (decent exhaust to replace the blowing standard one) but generally this is the new daily (the Disco is now relegated to large loads/off roading/towing) and so it's got to be sensible..... ish.
I'm also on the lookout for a decent set of suspension but nothing expensive - just something for 'fast road' use. The 2.0 BMW six isn't a particularly powerful lump, but it sounds great and a 325i motor should fit easily if I kill this one....

Great runaround!
What's the button just behind the ignition do, I don't have that in my E36, I'd go upstairs to look in the handbook, but that'd require getting up..
I've done the same and bought a cheapo 328 and have the same attitude to the engine. With the price of M3's, especially the 3.0 in freefall I quite fancy building a Frankenstein M3 touring but with completely standard 328 looks. However at 182K the engine runs perfectly and I couldn't bring myself to sacrifice it, and it's currently my ownly car.

I have no idea! Currently i'm 300-odd miles away from the car - it needs taxing before I can bring it back to Cornwall. Once it's back i'll have a look and see if it does anything - i've not see another E36 with any buttons there to be honest. I'll also spend a bit of time with the detailing stuff and see if I can give it a bit of a visual restoration - it looks a bit rough and untidy at the moment but I reckon it'll clean up really nice. This one has 178,000 on the clock, but runs very well so for now a fluid change, along with plugs, leads etc will do fine. Its for locking the electric windows. Bit pointless when there's no elecs in rear, but there ya go!Nice car though, I'm sure it will scrub up
Although that steering wheel is really holding the interior back to like the 80's

What's the button just behind the ignition do
Its a circuit breaker for the windows, My mate done the passanger window up on mine when there was a jumper in the way (dont ask!!) as soon as the window started to squash the jumper that little button poped out and the window stoped, had to push it back in to get the windows working againWhat's the button just behind the ignition do
