Where do I start? I've been looking around on the forum for a while now but thought i'd register and introduce my mini.

I bought a k series mini with a 1.4 16v metro engine mounted in a metro front subbie.

But after alot of thought I decided I really didn't want 13" wheels again as wanted the retro 10" look So made the decision that i'd remove the running gear and start afresh. A few months before i'd also purchased this as it was cheap for £100 Came with boot, doors and bonnet.
So it had been sat for a bit while I decided what to do and bought various parts.I've purchesed some new slighty deeper outer rims for these and also in the process of mirror polishing the centres

Also got a hudderfield beam with coilovers for the rear, Right hand tank And a nice set of refubished 7.5" disc brakes .
Made my subframe from the original a series subframe

tried the frame on the car but had some clearance problems with the wheels fouling the frame when on full lock at full suspension travel. so modified the frame again.
Here is the frame in the car

Tried the spectrums on the the frame withe the brakes and the stick out from the body less than an inch which i'm happy about. Gonna run the car without arches :- (sorry officer) Going to make it as light as possible while still retaining some style.Thats now a 1.8 elise block with the metro box.

standard lenth front end and I have more space than I thought I would.
With a slight peice of trimming my manifold fitted without even having to remove the front.
Although I am now considering trying to sqeeze a turbo over the gearbox aswell now.
first time its looked like a a car in about a year

WOW!

Great project!
But where's the radiator going? Infront of the 'box, or are you mounting it in the boot?

In the nicest possible way, I hate you biggrin

Looks like a fantastic project though, how much power does the 1.8 k series chuck out?

Where the rad goes depends on if I go turbo or not. As plan on Useing the rad from a late mpi mini. But don't think it would be upto the turbo temps. In current state with manifold, filter and lack of cat I should hope around 130+bhp but will deffo not be staying there.
