So off we set to T5 for 6:00am looking both tired from lack of sleep and excited! Slighty nervous at this point having never seen the car we were off to buy!

Lovely smooth flight with inflight cooked breakfast of a good standard!

Got to Edinburgh and met our man - "In costa wearing cream trousers and black top" - very James Bond!

The moment of truth:

Turned the corner in the car park and there she was gleaming in the rising sun!

So we opened her up and had a good poke around and everything was as or better than described - really clean car with everything working and looking fab!

At this point i was very excited:

So it was off to the local garage to check fluids/tyres/feul before the 400 mile journey home

Sam had told us to go via the A701 all the way down to Carlisle - and im glad he did - a more fabulous road i have never driven! twisty but open, fast and winding through beautiful countryside - all in an e28 M5 - I was in heaven!

Rest of the journey was all motorway where i was really surprised by the refinement of the M5 - effortlessly quick and comfy.

First impressions are of a car that is hugly capable compared to its new owners! She feels really small and nimble - a bit like a very powerful e30 which is awesome. The brakes aree superb and give you real confidence to attack the twisties.

In short it goes, steers and stops like a dream!

Bring on Snetterton!

Lovely machine, looks great on those wheels!

I'm very surprised by how small/compact it looks - looks very similar in size to a current 3-series!

Looks in fabulous condition as well.. thumbup

In my E30-owning days I always thought the shark-nose front of these looked dated. I'm rapidly changing my mind though....

Gorgeous mate.
