Thats a great car to work on, Peugeots dont tend to rust and if its just the bottom end then its hardly a great big job, even if you have to remove the crank.

Great cars, i used to pdi these back in the day when i worked for Peugeot.

Get it bought.

If you were nearer to me I'd let you have a ropey part exchange for free. Try going round some friendly local garages to see if they have any sh*t in part exchange.

hiya
that is a very nice car and i think it is a very worthy car to buy to work on while im at college and it should be a great learning curve. I dont mean to sound funny or cheap but can we even get cheaper than that it doesnt matter if the advert says breaking for spares or anything like that just as long as it is selling the whole car im not bothered !!
also can you try and find cars as close to or somewhere within the East Midlands as possible
thanks
P.S
Do you know of any garages in the area that would have a car like you suggested as I only live in Newark

Craig, I may have a car for you.

However, what do you plan to do with it? ie. will it be going back on the road at sometime?

Do you plan to learn how to do bodywork as you are after a runner?

In the not too distant past prices for weighing a car in were

£210 a ton for the car
£90 for the catalytic converter
£1 a kilo for the alloys

Making most cars worth £400+

I just phoned up to get prices for weighing in an old Ovlov and was told

£30 a ton for the car
£12 for the catalytic converter
30p a kilo for the alloys

Blimey! I was still going from what I'd read in the last few months.

Still beats years ago when my Dad had to pay £100 for someone to take away his Fiesta rust bucket.

I am not planning on scrapping the car i want to use it to learn whilst i am at college doing my course in motor vehicle engineering so you are the cheeky rascal for even thinking that i would be so cheeky to ask for a cheap car to scrap !!
By the way i do also plan on doing a course in bodywork but that will have to wait until i have left school. So that is the reason that bodywork is not a problem to me. With regards to the car being back on the road at some point that depends on how much work needs doing to the car to make it road worthy

Are you talking about the initial cost or after costs. Think you will be surprised to be honest. You should see my ol' junker wagon, an old beetle...ok the initial cost was quite high but great fun and easy to tinker with, parts are cheap as well when i need them. Only way i learnt when i was younger was getting hold of old motors for peanuts and trawling breakers yards. Was great fun as well.

I've had to scrap a van that looked like nothing was wrong with it, only 7 years old. However just to get the engine sorted (same problem as the peugeot) and a few bits and pieces was going to cost around £1750 making it unviable.
