3.2 v8 mate, the engine is as sweet as anything. All the toys inside aswell. It was one of my mates

My Dad's got just the same. Lovely thing to waft in, one of the few cars to encourage me to slow down!

These things are amazing value for money.

Friend of mine has the X308 XJR, he can get just under 20mpg in urban driving, and around 23 on the motorway if he's lucky. The 3.2 will be a little bit better, but not by much. But still, it's worth it yes
Have you thought about maybe getting an XJR grille to replace the chrome one? Does wonders for the looks IMO.

I got a quote for a X300 3.2 sport when i was 19 and it was £800-£900.
This is because they aren't statistically high risk cars.
Get some quotes, im sure you will be suprised.

The manual for 1250 looks good, bin the tow bar though! May have dragged some heavy stuff in its life..

Official combined mpg according to parkers is 23 so I'd imagine you could probably manage 25 on the motorway with the cruise control on. As far as the grille goes, this looks like the right colour:

You should be able to remove the slats and replace them with the mesh, as seen here:
