My Citroen AX GT....How Much!!!!!!
Discussion
I paid £250 quid for this in the Summer...20 years old, 45,000 miles, 1 owner. Had to spend a couple of quid on it as it didnt run. A new ignition amplifier, batter, alternator, plugs, dizzy cap & rotor, oil/filer change, pipercross filter ALOT of cosmetic TLC (It was green with mould!) and, as they say, jobs a good'un. She's now my urban runaround that just happens to lift-off over steer & goes round bends on three wheels! I love it

Very tidy looking AXe, back in the day a friend of my Dad's had one ,he reckoned it was a lot of fun, but apparently cross winds used to petrify him on dual carriageway
I though GT's all came with the funny 4 spoke style alloy wheels?
Great car mate

I had a couple of those when they were new, that looks like an early GT, the 4 spoke alloys were an option although they pretty much all came with them, I though GT's all came with the funny 4 spoke style alloy wheels?

they are brilliant fun - I can still remember my test drive in one. It surprised me hugely as I ceme up to e bend much more repidly than I had expected and I though I was going to be headed into the nearby field (as did my Bro' who was with me) but the GT took it in it's stride with great handling and a bit of the lift off oversteer as noted above - I was putty in their hands when I got back to the dealership.
s
+1 for lift of oversteer
I experienced some of that - steered into it, but the slide lasted long enough for the inside front wheel to drive up a bank and roll us over. Got out through the sunroof in the end. Really great car - remember the rorty engine, direct steering and those bottle storage bins in the doors! Ah, happy days.

It had horrible plastic factory wheel covers over the steel wheels. I smooth hammerited the wheels and they look, in my opinion, better than the 4 spokers. It was actually called an AX GT Sportif & didnt have the rear wing either!
As for the front fogs, they were knackered so, at the moment, I've just made up some blanking plates. Want to get some suzuki swift air ducts to replace them (don't need the lights) & to channel some air into that massive carb!

God those pics bring back memories!
10 years ago a bought a white AX 1.4 Forte, which was the last of the GTs, but with no spoiler and steel wheels to help with insurance.
At the time I worked in Macclesfield at the bottom of the Cat and Fiddle - I ALWAYS went the long way to and from work!
Unfortunately I had to sell it after 6 months as the offset steering wheel and pedals were giving me serious back ache.
