My classic impreza
Discussion
Evening guys,
thought i would post a thread of the impreza story so far.
Bought the car for £2000 back in March from a friend of a friend. I am the third owner, with both previous owners servicing the car religiously. When I bought it, the car was pretty much standard bar 2000 spec alloys and solid whiteline drop links. Even has the standard tape deck, which is still there.
THis was the car
I ran the car as i bought it for 6 months, basically till about 3 weeks ago when i was thinking of selling to purchase a smaller engined vehicle. However the car was due an MOT and Tax, so i decided to add a few bits of second hand parts.
So far, I have added 4 pot callipers from a P1 with grooved discs and fast road pads along with braided hoses to the front.
After that i decided to take the spoiler off as i wanted something different and prefer the mid level spoilers, however i wanted to spend my cash elsewhere. So I then got a set of used struts from another P1 with eibach pro line springs added. Lowered it alot more than i thought.
The car now handles very well indeed, however I still want to delve deeper into the frontend understeer.
After this i added a 97 STI rear box, and have a decat on the way to release a bit of burble.
The interior and engine are standard, although i would like to upgrade the induction setup in some form int he future.
Car has just went through the MOT on Tuesday, where it needed two light bulbs. Not bad for a car that has done 168000 miles.
Today i added some subaru mud flaps to complete the exterior.
Some pics... will get a better location in the near future.

head gasket and gear box were the end of that car, did well school run for years and myself and my brothers all learnt to drive in it, might explain the gear box ......... but over the years we had it till it went pop all at once only ever needed 1 new exhaust and the throttle cable adjusting

I had a similar Impreza back in 98 with the fll prodrive suspension kit on it. THe settings for this said max negative camber on the front, but the same on both sides. THey also had two toe-in settings for the rear (don't remember what they were) but one was for the twistys and one for high speed stability. I had the former. My car did not suffer from understeer, more like a big go-kart! I would recommend tracking down those settings and trying them out
