Hello All,

I have been shadowing over this forum for ages but its taken until now to sign myself up!
My name is Sam, I am a 3rd year Automotive design student at Coventry Uni, etc etc...

The car is my pride and joy but recently i have gotten bored and wanted something new and different, but every time I put the car up for sale- I then then change my mind and I have been turning people down and then taking it off classifieds! I don't know what to do!

To renew my interest in the car I have treated it to some more bits (more bhp, better braking etc) and embarked on a Euro road trip with my friends through France, Belgium and Germany- not forgetting to stop at the Ring.
My car being Fiat- i prepared the car for a month before hand and it paid off- it turned out to be the only totally reliable one in our convoy!

(Just ignore the number plate change- standard ones have been put back on for a supposed sale)

Anyway- some pictures...

I hope you like it!

Perfect, right colour aswell.

Very fitting car for someone on your course, that one was on my UCAS list and I always wonder if I should have gone there instead.

Great car.

Thanks for the kind words guys- i too think the LE/ Zender kit maintains the OEM look but gives the car a more aggressive/ cool look, than the standard Coupe. Each to their own though i am sure there are plenty that disagree.

Mods wise, the car has had:

Chipped
Boost controller running 1.1 bar boost (well within the limits of acceptable safe boost)
HKS sequential d/v
Induction kit
Longlife exhaust system
Rare front strut brace
Lowered 40mm and fresh dampers
Mintex 1144's
Grooved discs (have forgotten the make)
Refurbished Brembo's (before trip)

I don't have too many photos of the car at the Ring- i have loads of other cars!
Here are some pictures of the car in the carpark with the rest of our convoy.

Managed to sneak into this photo! We met some guys over there called 'the Northern monkeys' (in an e30 m3, e36 m3 and 911) who were a nice bunch of people and had just returned from Le mans 24.

Plenty of pics were taken of the mx5 in our group- its a regular over there and with a very competent driver it was actually surprisingly fast.Heavily re-worked geometry set up and 888's help. (8:40 gps verified in its past)

We lost one of the cars to the ring with some over confidence and a greasy patch, a real shame- we tried to get it returned to UK but the expense of doing it was too great so it was crushedfrown
We were all gutted for him because he managed to take out 16 metres of armco...you can imagine the bill.

One of my mates (Ash) is a great photographer and got some cracking photos

And then there were four...

I agree- Ash was the only one without a car and we were all out in our cars at the time- so there were no helmets available for him to wear. Could have been a mistake. Luckily everything was fine and he had some great pax laps.

Alright mate hows it going? It's Gary here. Dunno if you recognise the name? I'm on the same course, in the same year! Seen your car around along with the 'rado. Gimme a shout tomorrow so we can have a word. I was contemplating one of these a while back and would be interested to hear your opinion on it.

Cracking pics matey, have always loved the Coops, and whilst Broom Yellow wouldn't be my choice of colour (Sprint Blue for me...oh yeeeeesssssh) I fully approve of the bodykit and the rest of the mods. They just confirm what a stunning looking car it is, some 13 years after its release. One day, one of these will be mine.

Nice 'rado too. Gutted for your mate in the Saxo, that car looked tastefully modified and a right riot.

Nice car. They still look fresh even after production ceased some 8-9 years ago.

BTW, I've also seen that MX-5 at the 'ring on a number of occasions.
