some might call it chav cos its modified but i love it biggrin
the only spot of rust on it is the p/s rear wheel arch,
what it looked like when i brought it

Since then i have added colour coded mirrors and a honeycombe grill and changed the wheels to rs1800 resprayed in grey,

Nothing wrong with a bit of discrete modifying like that using OEM parts. It looks staggeringly clean and tidy, nice one. A mate of mine has an Escort of a similar age and its an absolute shed as he never even chucks a bucke of water over it. Really winds m up as then he moans bitterly when the poor thing breaks.

thanks for your comments,
i was surpised how clean and tidy it was when i went to look at it,
i brought it as a bit of a project so since i've owned it i've changed the starter motor and battery, it needs a new exhuast and has a slight water leak into the passenger footwell but that could be the rubber gromet as it has twisted other then that the car is great

I bought one of those brand new years back. Good car.

Looks like it needs lowering a little.

I have a K&N 57i kit for a 1.8 early Zetec and a steal parcel shelf with holes for 6x9 speakers which I assume would fit fine in a mk6.

Used to have them in this

hiya,
nice car you got there but if i were you i would have it lowered so its slammed over those wheels and then try and find some colour coded bumpers

Nice, is it your first car?

Nothing chavvy about it. Only cosmetic mod I would make would be body coloured bumpers.

Easyest way to get some more performance would be to try and get a 2.0 Zetec in there I reckon - there are tons of them from escorts, mondeos, mk1 focuses etc.

Don't use 6X9's, they really are rubbish. Get yourself a nice set of component speakers in the rear door cards, maybe one in the passenger footwell and you're away!

nah its my second car i scrapped my 1st one as it had rusted to much not worth saving it,
its going to get lowered on a set of koni adjustables soon along with turbogroove discs and green stuff pads.

its going to be getting a new engine over the winter period funds permitting, then it will be turned into a "sleeper" i will be aiming for about 200brake to start with.

cheers comments everyone
