My new car/ What happens.....
Discussion
when you take one bored student, a Halfrauds 3 for 2 offer on AutoGlym, and 6 hours where nothing else pressing was required?
Well, firstly you get £40 spent on stuff, one pair of jeans which now feature extra ventilation at the knee, and this:
EDIT - sorry about the quality of the photos, they came from my ridiculously overpriced Nokia 8600 Luna.

Ah well, note to self: must try harder.
Think it might help once I've got some more layers of wax on it (was pushed for time before it started raining, so one thin coat)
Still, can't say I thought it was bad....
To be fair dave, mine was tongue in cheek....maybe should have put a Think it might help once I've got some more layers of wax on it (was pushed for time before it started raining, so one thin coat)

Need some better pics though.
I know a guy who has one in that colour, its lovely in the metal.

lol, did I forget to mention this is a 2006 car with 20k on it?
And? My 21,000 mile '04 M3 that's lived its life outside has more shine than what's in those pictures. And I hate cleaning it.Not a bad finish with just Halfrauds stuff.

What's in the other Auto Glym bottle facing away from the camera?
Super Resin Polish, had a quick once over but not had a chance to do a proper job.Silent1 said:
You need some wax!

correct me if I'm wrong detailing buffs but you can't put layers of polish on, polish removes scratches/imperfections by removing a thin layer of paint, you then need layers of wax on top to protect it.http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/cat_4.html
So as Silent1 says, get some wax on it now!
Sorry, yes. Tiredness setting in after a fair bit of work
Only beginning to learn the terms (though not quite to the level of detailingworld) but my car has the typical hazing/light scratches which I was hoping to get rid of the worst of before waxing the car.

I think it looks alright, I'd say it looks flat due to the camera phone not the amount of elbow grease thats gone into it!.
As for a wax I found that Collinite 476 gives great results without costing a silly amount of money and its really hard wearing too. Cleanyourcar.co.uk is a fantastic company to deal with so have a look on there. Get yourself some foam applicator pads and a few microfibres when you're at it.
Nice looking car, always like those.
