Tried to tidy the car up abit mainly the front end.

New fogs
Smoothed bumper mouldings
Colour coded headlights
New alloys as 3 of the 4 old ones were cracked!!
Repaint brakes

Also did a very basic DIY sub install

draws heat out of the engine bay...or so I have been told
started on racing/track cars, now a "style" mod

I dont like it personally but the rest of the car looks tidy

Indeed it lets hot air out of the engine bay.

Seen on alot of RS's etc but less heat with any engine is a bonus.

It doesn't.

With the air travelling over the bonnet and up the windscreen, the hot hair will still stay under the bonnet. The reason this started was street drag, and drifting, where the air was either travelling side ways into the bonnet, or on the return trip from the 1/4 where heat could escape easier ready for the return run, but this is when car's are pushing 700-800bhp, and where engine bay temperatures actually effect the turbo's effectiveness.

If you want to stop heatsoak, wrap your manifold, get decent radiator and sort out a decent feed for induction.

In certain cases hot air will leave via the top of the bonnet. However with many engines the inlet is normally in the middle at the back. So what happens is that the 'escaping' air will actually warm the inlet manifold thus heating air before it gets to the engine.

Wraping your manifold may not be a good idea on all engines as the heat backs up into the head causing problems. There are 2 trains of thought and you will find reams of information either way.

A nice big rad always helps

I done that to the bonnet on my Series 1 (with a spacer & long bolts) deffinatly worked in slow moving trafic & jams.

Cheaper than the ally PACE radiator I bought for it & much more effective.

Hard to tell if there was any benefit whilst on the move, but still, the temp gauge was a little on the more healthy side when stopped in a jam.
