Awesome!

A car I've always loved the 240, something I'd want to own.

Love that, looks really clean. Would love to own one someday, but it would have to be a lot more ratty than that. These things are hardcore, there are loads of youtube vids of them being thrashed to destruction (or as close as one of these things can get to it...).

Whats it like on fuel?

I honestly rate the devils bridge road and the elan valley more than the triangle. Cant wait to get the volvo round those really open hairpins. whale suspension FTW. It doesnt drink it to much. probably about 20mpg with the odd bit of accelaration round roundabouts but mostly cruising around just above idle.

I desire one of those also, but I'd have to have a 2.3 GLT I think.

Up to now I've had to make do with 850s and I'm on my third one. The first of which cost a smidging over £1000 to insure when I was 18, my current one costing me a smidging under £600 to insure at 20.

They're top cars, and they rarely/never break down.

Enjoy it!

Hmm, reminds me of my Dad's old car. He had a silver B reg with a V6 engine. He took it up to 100leptons once and shortly after the big end started knocking so he got rid.

My Mum used to have a 79 245 and as it parked up outside of the MOT centre the suspension collapsed DOH! Wasn't in the best condition after being held together with filler and the big old canvas sunroof was taped up with duct tape.

Love the old 240s and love the stripes on the Torslanda.
My mate has had two of them, a GL then a GLT I think. They were suprisingly fun and fairly quick as far as I can remember (was a good few years ago now) don't know if that had anything to do with the avgas he ran them on though laugh

thumbup That is in phenomenal condition my dad had a couple of these as company hacks, hated them at the time but it never went wrong, now they are growing on me!

Now all you need to do is add some more ponies and make it into a real sleeper!

Nice one!

there's a rumour that the Torslanda has an LSD as standard. Can you have a look and confirm this please? If so, you've got quite a rare axle under there.

Have you joined turbobricks yet? Lots of RWD love on there.

Quality Volvo!

I've had a couple of 340's and a 740. The 340's were knackered and my 740 I got for free!

When I was a baby, my dad had an M registered 245 Estate in bright yellow. He used to drive it to work every month all the way across the iron curtain to Poland, he took it through blizzards and blocked roads and it never gave up.

I'd love a 240 Estate, or in fact any big old 70's Volvo, they are pretty damn cool.

My ultimate Volvo would have to be one of these:

The Volvo 262C, designed by Bertone. cool
