But as she says this is younger, is faster than me and doesnt groan going over bumps. On reflection I have to agree with her!

I've had the pleasure of having 3 MK3 MX-5 2.0 Sports as company cars and I love them! Had a 1.8 Opt Pack as well which was arguably better.

Oooh a Roadster-Coupé. How does she find it with the hard-top folding roof?

I was dead set on a Mk3 2.0 Sport but finances have meant I'm looking at mk2.5's instead, though I'd ideally like a 2.0 Sport Roadster-Coupé

No probs at all with the hard top, mind you its been raining since she picked it up three weeks ago so havnt used it a lot. I have driven it once and must admit I loved it, its not a super car by any stretch, but what fun. She hasnt stopped grinning since she had it.

Rumours abound that they had to raise the height to comply with EU laws, which threw all the geometry out.

Not only the geometry, but more importantly they won't (shouldn't) pass an MOT with the EU standard springs. The headlights are too high and cannot attain the correct aim.

Very informative thread here;

Not that I'm style obsessed, but I think the normal convertible looks a lot nicer than the roadster-coupe thing.

Still, I've heard they're quite good cars in either guise.
