Mk1.6 Mr2 - Black Bob
Discussion
Took delivery of my ready converted Mk1 Mr2 with 3VZFE yesterday :
Dropped the old engine out (suspected HG failure) and fitted my ready prepped, painted, ported and polished engine :
Going back to work today to finish off reattaching everything, do a spot of wiring, fill it with fluids and go for a drive.
Many, many thanks to Rob F who helped me out on the marathon 11 hr shift yesterday for nowt but a fish supper and an oil change. Top lad.
The car itself has Koni adjustable suspension, a fidanza lightweight flywheel, GT4 front brakes, Mk2 Turbo rears, Mk2 Turbo ARB to be fitted, some Mk2 leather seats, momo steering wheel, apexi induction, and a set of Azev A replicas.
Future plans are a megasquirt ECU and possibly a set of throttle bodies. Will be attending some PH meets in it in the next few months, keep an ear out for it.
Ta,
Olie

Whats that then, a 3 litre in it ??!!
That's right, from a Toyota Camry/Lexus GS. We strip them down, work them over and slip them into Mr2's.Should be making around 200bhp and 200lb/ft of torque with a soundtrack to suit : http://www.vimeo.com/1496510
Got it cranking tonight but flooded it. will start it 2moro. Crail on Sunday to see how it does.
It's a fair bit of work to put one in a Mk1, Mk2 is a straight swap nearly.

Here's my bosses write up of hot to do it http://www.mr2mk1club.com/V6MR2.html
Utterly, utterly transforms the car into something rather special.

Brilliant enthusiasm which shines throughout the read, took me about an hour to read through but thouroughly enjoyed it.[URL]www.twobrutal.co.uk[/url} has all the details.

I think that rather than try and squeeze a turbo in there I would go for a small shot of nitrous. Even 70hp would make all the difference as it is the way it is delivered, similar to a turbo on boost.
Now all I need is to find someone that can help me with my own conversion which was the Opel Monza 3.0 shed of the week, which hopefully is going to get as LS1 under its bonnet with a tremec T56. That is purely a pipe dream at the moment
