I sold my last propper car in september 07 help towards a deposit for a house frown

corrado VR6:

loved the car to bits and had a fair while to wonder about what to replace it with whilst i beat around in an old 406 diesel estate eek i very nearly bought another vr6 but in the end i decided on a 951 for it's RWD chasis and higher bhp.

i had my eye on this one for a while, then the owner reduced the price and couln't resist, so it was off to devon and back from manchester for a 12 hr round trip to pick it up! :driving

she's a 220bhp car that has been re-mapped to 250bhp.

Pic's from the advert:

5K serivce was due right away so i swapped the oil for some mobil 1 15-50W and put a new set of falken rubber on all round. The car has been very well maintained mechanically but cosmetics were in need of attention so i booked here in with a friend at Sigma Detailing in St annes for paint correction:

before dan set to work:

Sprayed the wheels with some non acid cleaner that just smelt AMAZING:

sprayed the car some snow foam and rinsed to lift any dirt off before a second wash with wool mitt:

You'd think the car would be clean by now? clay bar says no.

Snow foam and rinse again to get rid of anthing left after the clay bar:

Dry off with microfibre towel:

with the car clean you can really see all the defects in the paint, the car was covered in small scracthes and the wings were pretty bad eek

Masked up plastic bits:

So 2 hours later were ready for polish:

Remember that bonnet?:

before and after machine polish:

Wax next, applied by hand... sexy! apparently the heat from your palms makes the wax go on better...i jist think dan wanted to feel up my car laugh

Spoiler next, hit with some trim restorer:

Wheel sealant to protect them from brake dust:

Is this why they call it detailing?!?..getting rid of dust/residue:

getting there now bounce tyre treatment:

treated it to some new plates and bonnet badge:

after a LONG day in the workshop the turbo rolled out into some late afternoon sun cool

Very VERY pleased with results, thanks Dan! cloud9

Looks fantastic, I'd seen the ad for that car and thought it looked a good one.

So are you in the St Annes/Blackpool area? There seem to be a lot of us 944 owners around there.

Its stuff like this that makes me think this detailing lark might be worth the investment! Mind if I enquire as to how much it cost?

Oh, and I look forward to seeing some proper pics of it in the Photography forum shortly....wink

That is a great looking 944 Turbo! What a great job your detailer did! The only thing I would change is the alloys!

Oh really like your Corrado you must have been sad to see that go?

thumbup Your 944 is a very worthy successor though!

yup. very sad day indeed. had a lot of fun in it tho, onwards and upwards i guess.

i'm in two minds about the wheels, they are CRAP at letting air in to the brakes...

mind one says: these wheels were an option on the 88 turbo only, pretty special, keep 'em. i quite like them.

the other mind says: Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs Fuchs laugh

They are 18", the car has Koni suspension and is lowered 2". He had to have the wings rolled to make a snug fit. The car gets photo'd everywhere he goes.
