93' Celica GT-i 2ltr 16v Project
Discussion
I'm sure that this will hardly float too many boats, but having owned nothing but German work horses and having to part with my Beloved GTI earlier this year, i was on the look out for a new car for not too much money.
As per usual, I plunged head first into Ebay, piston heads etc etc looking for a tidy small bumper 16v, then maybe an audi coupe, heck even thought about getting another BMW 325, but then this popped up on ebay and £525 later she was mine.
This is the first Jap car i've owned, and to be honest never really been to keen on them. However.... this little car is awesome. Full service history and only one previous lady owner so the car is immaculate. Still even has the vinyl clear protectors on the rear lower quarters for the stone chips
First impressions were good, didnt want to rag it but could tell it liked to pull, plus the engine needs to be revved to get to the power which appeears to come in at about 5-6 rpm and then redlines at 9,000. Here she is at it stands:-
Plans are as follows and with updates to come this weekend....
Get these refurbed and then on... Jap Splits 16" x 7
Then new discs and Pads F & R and timing belt done (for peace of mind) mechanically
30mm drop, some interior tidying (its all blue), filter, cam, manifold, exhaust and then enjoy.
I really like this little car and she will do till i finish my saving for another Dub, holiday to Australia, Girlfriends shopping addiction etc etc.
Anyone had one before? Any things to look out for? Sort now rather than later or just give some inspiration for styling.... finding it a bit hard to break away from the Euro look and due to that its even harder finding some tidy inspiartional pictures
Cheers for looking

Due to pictures & video like the above, I've always fancied one of these, came very close to buying one off ebay recently too. A bloke that works in the firm next door @ work has a gorgeous GT of these, really fancy owning one...one day.
Good buy for sub 600, bravo! Rather wish I did the same!

spend not too much more and you could put yourself in the 4WD turbocharged GT-4 version.
I had a GT-4 prior to my Caldina
things to look out for.
corroded fuel and brake lines seems to be common problem
leaking heater matrix (passenger footwell gets wet / loss of coolant)
corroded sills rear half near too rear wheels

Well i've had a play about in getting her a bit tidier. Gave it a bloody good clean (tooth brush job) fitted new dics and pads, front and rear and also gave the engine bay a bit of a clean.
