Its a rest day and since it was sunny I decided to clean my car, once done I thought "doesn't that look nice in the sun" and after that I thought it would be rude to not share with everyone else ...

... So here goes.

First I went to my usual spot, I seem to take all my photos here, its nicely tucked out of the way, gets plenty of sunshine and the hedges frame the picture nicely if you position the car correctly

Then I decided to go a bit further and found somewhere that I've had my eye on for pictures for a while now which has just had its access opened up so I did a few more pics there.

Then I pointed my nose for home and had a little bit of a hoon on the way back

I know its not as exotic as half the machinery on here and I'm risking a PH flaming for posting pictures of a modified peugeot hatchback, however I don't think what I've done is distasteful in anyway.

The car is a Phase 2 Gti-6 and since woning it I have had the (standard)wheels refurbed gloss black and wrapped in 195/50/15 goodyear eagle rubber The car was already lowered when I bought it but I intend to change the dampers at some point as they don't seem as stiff as they should be. I've also fitted a 3" rolled out exhaust (only did this because it was cheaper than replacing the battered peugeot item).

Its going into the bodyshop soon for the dent in the bonnet to be sorted and when its back with me I'm swapping the fogs for some rallye blanks and painting the calipers gloss red.

Like I said not to everyones taste on here but its my pride and joy and it gives me plenty of pleasure.

Does no-one like blaze yellow? I recognise your picture in your profile. You're on 306gti6.com aren't you?

Sharland?

Lovely car you have there fella. It brings back very fond memories of my old gti-6. It was my first fast car and I loved it, superb straight out the box.

Enjoy

Jim

nice car. not keen on the gold paint personally but the black wheels do suit the paint.

The calipers are something which have taken very careful consideratin over many months (I've bored my OH to tears debating the options)

I thoughtabout doing them black then realised this would be pointless
considered silver but they wouldn't tie in with anything else on the car
I was settled for ages on gold but unless it was a perfect colour match for the body I don't think it would look very good.

I chose red in the end because there is some red GTI badging on the doors and the red calipers I hope will highlight it plus red behind the black wheels in my opinion looks great. I know its a bit 'pretend 4 pots' to paint your brakes but I'm doing it anyway.

As for the dent, thats getting sorted next payday.

Thanks for all the comments after the recent debates on here about modified cars I wasn't sure how a french tin can hot hatch would go down I've been pleasently surprised. But then I guess (or I hope) that theres a wold of difference between mine and that monf*ckingstrosity of a 106 thats been on here recently.

So how is painting them red anything other than pointless?

Sorry, it's a nice car. I've always been a big fan of the 6. But please don't paint the callipers...

How about gold? Callipers when they are new are normally gold and that would certainly tie in!
I can't stand the colour, but I like what you;ve done with yours and its a great car!

I'm amazed how many people don't like Blaze Yellow, I wouldn't buy a GTI6 in any other colour.

I've seen them done Blaze on a Blaze car and it works very well indeed. Look after it anyway, there's not many nice ones left.

Nice car there Darren with some sensible mods. Amazing how quickly a well driven one can cover ground.

Were there any phase 1 GTi-6's? Thought they went from S16 to this when the facelift came out?
And aren't the original wheels 16 inch?
