Still taking it easy for another hundred miles or so but went for a moderate run out this morning and I'm quite impressed so far.

Lets just hope it doesnt start falling apart next week! hehe

If I were to get a new hatch, I think this is what I'd go for... not just the car... but that colour.

That or the Yellow metallic one.

How does she drive?

I hadn't set out to buy a "hot-hatch", ideally I'd have loved a 2 seater coupe of some variety (I still fancy a Z4M at some point!) but practicalities meant something that can carry a few people and all the other stuff...

Im really enjoying it so far tbh. I've only done 160 odd miles in it so far but I might be going to Goodwood in the morning (Supercar Sunday!) so that should get a few more on there. Handling is superb and its got quite a surprising amount of grunt.

Hi Jon! I didn't realise you were on here too. Are you going to the WSR thing next week? Be good to meet you and say hello if you are.

White really is the colour to have now, looks really good along side the black wheels and stickers.

That looks awesome - if I was looking for a hot hatch, I'd have that in that colour (or the yellow possibly). Shame you couldn't get the Z4M though frown

Is the ride quality and refinement as harsh as the magazines make out?

Not at all to be honest. The car I test drove was a bit bumpy from what I recall but my car doesnt seem too bad at all. Sure, its firm but its not crashy in the slightest. Driving on the motorway was perfectly fine and even on the pot-holed b roads around where I live it seems surprisingly compliant.

that looks spot on! I've got a mercury r26 which i love, but if the white paint & the lux pack had been available when i order mine i certainly would have picked it.

I really like these. Had a play with one the other day, very quick cars, and a nice (and better) alternative to the Astra or Focus.....

Mercury with Anthracite has to be one of the best combo's though. It just looks classy IMO!

Cheers guys.

Modern cars seem to look so good in white. Not all, I admit but yours certainly looks great. Very nice interior too smile

Until the camera pans round to the dash..

I like though, much cooler than a ST or VXR.

i agree with the fact that the interior looks very nice, front recaro`s inparticular, and i agree more that the dash is absolutely shockingly bad and the steering wheel horrible, but i definately dont agree that its "cooler" than an st or a vxr. or indeed anythinger than a vxr or st.(well maybe cr*p*er or shi*ter. is toileter a word? oh frencher, yes its that too) i forgot loser and im sure lots of other ers so maybe that blows my er thing out the water. the dash is really bad though. oh and its french. er

Lets stay mature about this please!wink

The dashboard could be better, I'll agree there. But with regard to comparisons between the ST and the VXR, save that for another thread please. It's been debated time and time again on PH so go dig one of those up. You prefer the ST from the look of it, I prefer the R26. There we go, everyone's happy.

furry muff like fair enough im sure it is a good car as most mags rated them highly. a friend of mine was thinking about one but the dash and cockpit finished it for him and he bought a leon cupra r. be aware though due to the frenchness to change a headlight bulb requires removing the front bumper. clever stuff. can only imagine what needs doing to change the clutch. seriously though they could have profiled down the rear end to look a bit better somehow surely. do like the seats though and think its a good looking car from the front and looks good in white with the dark wheels. like the pearlescent yellow too but couldnt deal with that every morning. potatoes potaatoes.
