Newbie Irish PH'ers Alfa GTV 2.0
Discussion
Hey there lads/ladies.
Usual story - been browsing for ages but just recently signed up.
My car is a 2.0 twin spark GTV (and yes, of course the 3.0 badge makes it go faster!)
Only 21 so cant insure 3.0
Had the car 3 weeks before it spun a big end bearing! Previous owner must not have understood alfas love for expensive oil! Rebuilt the engine (included a oil pressure gauge!)
Anyway, pictures tell the tale!
Any comments on my pride and joy are welcome!
Got the pics sorted!

Lovely car - got a Spider version myself but for the love of God get rid of the 3.0 badge.
The 2.0 is a good enough car, dont be ashamed of it - plus anyone in the know will just shake their head when they see the badge but hear the TS noise.
Fair point! Didnt think the badge would go down well on here! The 2.0 is a good enough car, dont be ashamed of it - plus anyone in the know will just shake their head when they see the badge but hear the TS noise.
Would love a 3.0 Spider, in Black. Hopefully that will be next.
Twin cam alfa four pot is an engine to be proud of! (although not as cool as a v6). Get the TS badge back on!
I often wonder why people badge up cars to be something they're not. Anyone knowledgeable enough to realise what a 24V V6 is (and be impressed) is only going to wonder where the classic V6 howl has gone...then probably twig!

Looks really good, what did you use to paint the gearbox any special sort of paint?
Carl
Thanks!Carl
Just used an aerosol of "Aluminiun Paint" 10euro job in halfords. The red is Halfords "High temp engine paint", again cheapo stuff but its held up well. Works good on brake calipers too, and its only a fraction of the price of caliper paint.

Nice car, but take the stupid badge off. Its not a 3.0, so why bother pretending. People will just think thats 3.0 alfa spiders are slow.
Its the same as putting an M3 badge on a 318 to be honest.
OK! The badge is gonna go! There was no badges on it when i got, only put it on as i bought a few bits of a mate for next to nothing- badges, "cup" front splitter, "cup" sideskirts, facelift grill and zender exhaust. Its the same as putting an M3 badge on a 318 to be honest.
He had bought them years ago for a project car he never got around to doing.

As I said, twinwpark is a classic engine!
Just been looking at this pic -
the lines really are fantastic aren't they!
Thanks Shalmaneser.
Yep, really like the lines of car, and imo the splitter + sideskirts really enhance them. Was tempted to put on a boot spoiler aswell (as it was going cheap) but like the sharp finish as it is.
Next on shopping list is a set of 156 GTA teledials. Think they would finish it off nicely.

Maybe you should add yourself to this list?
