New member Introduction!!!! (and car pic)
Discussion
Hi all,
Hoping this is the correct forum to place an intro thread... Im actually suprised its taken me this long to create an account here and start posting as i've been visting the site and browsing for ages!
My car history is short and sweet (since im 21 and just about to graduate from uni, havnt rly had the oppurtunity yet..) and consists of a 1.4 Renault Clio fiji as my first learner car and my current 2001 Saxo vtr (needs a clean):
Im a subscriber to evo, what a great magazine and am passionatly against boy racers....
Due to none of my mates having an interest in anything with an engine I rarely get to take part in any spirited driving, and I certainly do not intend to attend any cruises.. Im not expecting to take part in any runs yet, as my car wouldn't be quick enough to keep up *embarrassed* but I keep an open mind. However in another 2 yrs time after studying law I then intend, as a gift to myself (having accured 6 years NCB) for finally being in professional employement, to buy a 6.0 Monaro vxr, by then a nice used example should be in reach
Look forward to chatting with you all, I can talk about cars and car related topics all day
Cheers
Jake

Very nice.
When the revision / studying gets tough....just looks at pics of a Monaro to help you get through it all!
Im in the middle of exams, two down, one to go (on friday) then the partying begins!! (ive been away from the drinking circuit for 6 weeks) When the revision / studying gets tough....just looks at pics of a Monaro to help you get through it all!
But your right, as my laptop background is a Monaro vxr 500 I found it focused my mind when revising for my entirely boring exams

So you can make it louder, but not particularly faster? Doubt you'll get any sensible answers on here, this place tends to not go for such things.sammy-mclay said:

If you need a new one as yours is defective then just replace like with like No point modifying your vtr will have little improvement on perforamce and will just drone on longer journeys. Plus it will look silly
For a car that Gp 7 I think it goes fine, handles nicely and makes a good enough sound (relatively, compared to similar). Just keep it all standard, that way your not reducing your potential market when coming to sell it, and probably get a better price (as if you mod it buyers will think you rag it all the time )
