My first real performance car
Discussion
My first car (in Holland) was an USA imported Plymouth Laser 2.0 n/a, then over here i had an old Celica GT-R 2.0 for a while before i bought my 1998 Celica GT which i've been taken to PH runs and meeting.
However, as of today, i drive "a real sportcar"
The 2.0 N/A celica is sold and has been replaced by a 3.0 V6 24v Mitsubish GTO Twin Turbo
And bloody hell! what a difference! This thing is faaaaaast, and it goes Pssss everytime i change gear (dump valve) which is really cool
It has permanent 4-wheel drive, 4-wheel steering, the back spoiler goes up above 50 mp/h and from the front bumper this spoiler lip comes down, it has buttons saying "exhaust silencer" and "sport suspention mode" and i can't stop smiling
Can't wait till this sunday when i'll be doing the dash for the coast forum run.
Couple pictures from the prevous owner and of last week when i went to view and testdrive it. The weather is a bit crap now but will be taking so more pictures soon.
Old and new next to each other :
Plans for the next couple of weeks :
- remove rear fog light and change wireing (with help of GTO Club mate) so that one of the rear lights has the fog light inside it.
- 4 new exhhaust tailpips in stainless steel.
- New alarm with immobiliser, remote start and turbo timer build in
- Induction kitt.
- maybe lower it a bit
And offcourse after a week of lovely sunny 27 degree weather when i get my car is has to be pourning down with rain...
Roll on sunday!

Yeah the repair job looks fantastic mate. How much did you get it for?
You're just trying to wind me up to be funny it take it... Car has been with previous owner for over 4 years and has always been well maintained and services by Eurospecs, and i've spoken to someone of Eurospecs who's also in the GTO owners club so i'm sure if this car had major damage in the past i would have known about it before i bought it.
Plus, with no visible reg and not knowing where and of whom i bought it, why come up with those comments?

Hi Karim
Sorry you couldn't make the Kent/East Sussex Hoon last Sunday. I'm hoping to do another mid June-ish; would be great to see your new motor then if you can make it.
Re. your upgrade plans - my opinions:
1) Removal of rear foglight. Good idea, will make a definite visual improvement in tidying the back end of the car up.
2) Lowering. Yep, will definitely improve the aesthetics by lowering the ride height and reducing the gap between the top of the wheel arch and the tyre. I'd go for just a slight lowering muself, say half an inch or so. If you can get a handling improvement at the same time from your new suspension, even better.
3) Exhaust. Shiny stainless pipes at the rear would look good in contrast to the current slightly corroded looking jobbies.
4) Induction kit. I'm not too familiar with the sound of these motors, but if it sounds a little tame for your tastes, then go for it.
Nice looking motor. Do enjoy the Dash to the Coast this morning. Would have loved to join the run but sadly i'm stuck at work until 0715 today.
Have fun!
Justin

Thanx for all the nice comments folks.
Did think of a GT4 but they look quiet similar to the GT i had and i just love the looks of the GTO.
The rear fog is coming off tonight, the exhaustpipes are gonne be replaced with something like these :
It's gonna be lowered and i'm looking for an induction kit for some nicer sound.
Most of it should be done/ready for the Kent run in 2 weeks.
