lovely Capri! Has it got Fishnet Recaro's? and please dont over modify it!! if you want to upgrade the suspension, use std 2.8I bits (struts/antirollbars/rear single leafs and bilstiens, 145lb -1" front springs) and a set of 7" RS four spokes with 205/60R13 would be in keeping and not decimate the value and improve the driveability, PAS is an easy conversion too. For improved night driving theres a fairly simple and economical way of upgrading the headlamps, i'll post the details if you want to know how;)

Top motor! thumbup

thanks mark.

I plan to do nothing to the car at all, i really want to keep it standard. Only seems right. I might treat myself to a set of RS 4 spokes, but I'm not sure if 7" is too wide, but I'm open to suggestions.

here's the inside.

Stunning!! Brings back many fond memories! Later S models had single leaf springs at the back, they give a far more compliant ride, along with better grip( they react faster than multi leafs), the 7" RS fours spokes are the same offset as the std 2.8I rims, so they will fit ok and fill the arches properly, I think that the later RS 7 spoke (Injection Special) Rims are too "modern" for the capri, the older 4 spokes or even early injection pepperpots really do look the part. I had a white B plate 2.0S with a 5 speed box, the single leaf springs and very rare grey strobe fishnet recaro's and door trims. It was in white and I fitted 2.8 pepper pots with gun metal centres and polished rims.... really set the car off IMHO.

Its great to see these old beasties as Henry intended them to be... and i just love the colour! Sadly I messed up quite a few of these when they were just old bangers and not worth a great deal.. I broke the B plate S as I couldn't find a buyer for it, the seats went for more than i could get for the whole car! Sad old days!

these are a few of the ones I built, the orange one started as a D reg 1.6 laser insurance write off (stolen recovered) It had the same seats as yours, but a full ghia centre console set up and dash in chocolate brown!, The engine was well tweaked, approx 145 Bhp 2litre on twin 40's with PAS (it was the wifes) and a mental twin exhaust set up!, bilstiens all round, big front brakes, 2.8 rear drums, 3.77CWp with LSD, rear x frame on single leafs and a set of TSW Blades(first set in the country) in 7x15". uprated electrics (90 Amp alternator) and quad side/dip/main headlights, Mk11 grille (thats a brass Pinto belt buckle, not a mustang BTW), RS front spoiler, a strut brace and a stealthy stereo (ICE these days) install. It won quite a few pots at shows and was featured in performance Ford.
The green one supplied all of the bits and the reg (cherished transfer), it had a custom paint job, based on Apollo green metallic faded out with coarse flake silver to give a pearly effect, I rekon the 13" compomotives suited it better, as did 'er indoors....after the blades had been bought!

the black one was a giggle and seriously quick, based on a 2.8 with sorted suspension and brakes,a Specialised Engines 3.1 injection (bored and stroked) engine with a hairy cam and uprated injection system(bigger pump, injectors and metering head) daft 2 into 1 exhaust with a truck tail pipe welded to the back box, the front had MK11 headlamps and bonnet with the wings cut back, it took a day to spray satin black with a dozen spectra aerosols, I did this just for a bit of fun, I was more into hammering cars than polishing in those days smile
I really wish I still had any of the standard cars now, especially the Injection Specials cloud9 memories!
