That looks fantastic!

A lonngggg longgg time ago, back in the early 90's, my dad was looking at buying a brand new big car. One of these was very high up on his list, when Lexus first appeared in UK. Sadly it never happened for him/us but I have always wanted one since.

May I ask how much it set you back? And may I also give you a big thumbup!

A trader friend of mine just bought one for £600. Silly money really, but then with petrol the way it is I know why they lose so much value

I bought a 94 M reg for 300 quid , it had sat unloved and unmoved in a garage yard since it last passed an mot in 2005. I have full service history and the 120k mileage is genuine.

We bought it to break for its engine and gearbox but its just too good to split up to sell off the unwanted bits via ebay so we are putting it through an MOT and will be using it for the Le Mans Classic run in July.

I was checking it over on Friday, freeing up the brakes etc and once the surface rust had gone I discovered that the brake pads and discs, front and rear, were replaced for the last Mot and are therefore brand new.

It has a few scratches, the lacquer has lifted in a couple of spots and the alloy wheels needed a bit of paint but a bit of halfrauds special wheels spray and couloured wax and it looks great. One of the front fog lights is missing but thats the only thing to betray its unloved history.

I just cant get over paying so little for a car that has everything, the 6 CD changer and stereo system was worth the purchase price.

We're now going to stick some Shelby stripes over the car, slap on some cheesy decals and see what a 300 quid waftmobile can do on the continental motorways......

Cheers,

Tony

£300?! That is just totally ridiculous. As I said in my earlier post, these things were top notch cars in the day, quite groundbreaking in a megaluxury barge way. Quietest car money could buy, if I recall correctly.

Well done you for finding such a bargain - I'll be going to LM Classic too so will keep an eye out for you (I'll be passenger in a white MR2 turbo biggrin )
