RE: tvradict's Ford Orion
Discussion
I Missed this one.
My car does seem to use quite a bit, but it also does a lot of cold miles, and a lot of short journeys. The other problem is the breather pipe from the Rocker Cover to the Airbox is now breathing to atmosphere which means that any oil vapour runs down the side of the engine, rather than returning to the block.
I also change the oil every 6000miles, It was advice given on here, something about the opil capialries becoming blocked and changing every 6000miles prevents this. It needs oil now, but I'm not gonna top it up, if it goes bang it'll give me the excuse I need to get a new motor

The oil vapour which is normaly routed into the airbox is simply burnt, it doesn't get recycled back into the sump.
No, but I'm counting down the hours til I do.
16hours 43 minutes
As you can tell I'm quite excited.
I dropped off the Cover note to the dealer last night, I noticed they had a burgundy Ka1 sitting where the focus was, and I couldn't see it where the other 'awaiting delivery' cars where so I assumed it was being serviced
Got my stack of CD's waiting by the door ready
