hi all. new on this site, its interesting to see a site that caters for all marques.
thought i'd post a few pics of my car to introduce myself.

ive owned this just over a year, ive had lots of gti's but this is my favourite example.

these are the wheels i put on for the summer, i think they look much better than the p slots.

Very smart on the G60 steels, is it standard?

Thankyou.
yes its in standard form as far as the bodywork, engine and interior goes. but i have done a few tweeks to the chassis. FK coilovers and a lower strutbrace. its not set too low and it really is fun to drive and handles well for a mk1. the interior is the original red stripe and is mint! probably the best thing about the car.
pics havnt come through in the best quality, not sure why but you get the idea.

Thankyou
ive been thinking of selling this week actually. But i just keep coming back to golf gti's. i havnt found anything that gives as much fun for what you have to lay out. ok so there not as quick as modern cars and dont have the electric gizmo's. but there so cheap for parts, get 38 MPG, and i still melt when i look at it, lol.
this one has been the most reliable car ive ever owned. nothing has broken since i bought it, and it passed the mot needing nothing!! now thats amazing for a 25yr old car that did 10k in a year!

i would love a BMW 5 series though. the old ones with the pointy nose. so i'm not sure i guess i'll see what happens.

That is absolutely lovely, I like it on either set of wheels thumbup

There is just something so right about the shape of the early MK1s.

Lovely Mk1 Golf GTi, to me the Mk1s are the best after that they got fat, heavy and concerned about the family (like me except the last bit)

Never seen these p-slot wheels before that I can remember but I'm with you I prefer the others

A BMW 5 series is a total different car only get one if your keeping the Golf or you'll regret it and have to buy another Golf and it may not be as good as this one

10k miles a year no wonder it runs well - others take note of that mileage thumbup
