love it
in relation to the post above, the xe will be cheaper than a N/A yb, and doesnt suffer from cosworth tax
Agree, but a Ford is a Ford and the YB in N/A or Turbo form would have been the natural choice by Ford'ies.
Nice motor either way and the times speak for themselves.

Now THAT is a propa car my man!
I bet that shows all the yoof in their 'insert generic crap french car' who's boss!
And all the metro sexuals in their 'insert generic italian exotica' who's boss.I bet that shows all the yoof in their 'insert generic crap french car' who's boss!
And all the mid life crisis men in their 'insert generic 2 seater british sports cars' who's boss.
And all the yuppies in their 'insert generic high powered German saloons' who's boss.
I could go on. What's with the few people on this site who love to sg off young people who choose to drive the most fun cars they can realistically afford to run and insure? I bet a lot of pistonheaders cut their teeth in a R5GTT, 205 GTI, Clio Williams or the like.
Nice car btw, must be running a huge shot of nitrous for those times!

i surprised Nikki has had so much abuse given some of the stuff people say on here!
shouldn't it have been 'generic japanese car' nowadays anyway..?
It could be generic anything TBH, this escort has a faster 1/4 mile time than most supercars, which was my point about it being a daft thing to say. Wouldn't call it abuse mind, nobody has said anything derogatory. shouldn't it have been 'generic japanese car' nowadays anyway..?
Kieran, any ideas on the power outputs, both with and without nitrous? On that engine spec I can't imagine it's much over 200hp without the laughing juice, so must be running a huge shot of the stuff!
I seem to have made a bit of a mistake in my last post and for that i am sorry. Let me make myself clear,
I would VERY happily tool around in aformentioned GTi, GTt etc, i think they are wicked and probably the best way to build confidence as a young driver who cant afford anything else. The comment i should have made is 'generic over bodykitted 1 litre cars', its them that i am opposed to. They seem to think that because they have a fart can exhaust on the back and a hooj bodykit they can race anything, ever. That goes for Saxos, 106, Corsas, and even though i am a die hard Fod nut, even the sudden surge of Fiestas that have seem to hit the streets.
The point i was trying toi make (but clearly missed) is that surely for the money spent on the bodykit, ICE, filler etc somebody could afford to buy and run a nice little sporty number instead? Still wouldnt beat that awsome Escort though!
P.S Its Nicky Mattsson (Swedish name), the Saxo and Polo aint mine
