I sold my mk2 Mondeo last week for something a little more fun. I picked this up on Friday:

I am loving it. Its a 1995M 2.0ES auto and is in great shape. A few bits of paintwork could do with some attention and the sunroof won't open, but I can sort those as and when.

I've not seen one of those for years.

Can certainly see the inspiration for the new volvo. I like it aswell!

I wanted my mum to get one of those, when I was younger. I thought they looked sporty. Still look good today.

Always liked those. Is that the one where the rear seats are like armchairs? Didnt they also do a 1.7T?

ChrisBR68:

Yes, they did a 1.7 and a 1.7 turbo. The turbo models are a lot faster than the 120bhp power output would suggest, but are also a lot more to insure too.

My 2.0 isn't too bad and moves along nicely for its 110bhp, even with an auto box.

And yes, it has two independent rear seats which are like armchairs. They even recline!

Wrong. Awesome car - my neighbour had one when I was a lad. Made my old man's Sierra look very boring indeed.

nono Bad form to knock someone's new P&J.

Besides, compared with some of the dross that's appeared in these pages of late it's by no means the worst either.

Oh piss off.

Looks nice. My.. err.. relative had one and I always thought it was cool looking. Always confuses me a bit when I look at one as it seems to have two full sets of lights at the front laugh. Are the popups only highbeam?

Cool!

A nosey neighbour of ours had one when i was growing up! I remember watching her drive past peering into our house once, she then mounted the kerb and knocked a lamp post over!

You might want to check for front end damange as her's was that colour!! eekwinkbiggrin

Why do people even bother to apologise before knocking someone elses car?

Personally I was never a fan of these when there were a few more on the road but nowadays I think they look great! No other car looks the same way, does it? Its practical and I'm willing to bet that it's cheap aswell.

Good buy! biggrin

If I don't like a car in Readers Cars, I just don't reply? confused How hard is it to not be harsh about someones P&J

Having checked eBay and Autotrader, these cars are pretty rare nowadays, which in my book means it's ace. I did a rally to Croatia a couple of years ago and someone brought on of these along, and dropped from 5th to 1st on a motorway! Exploded the whole thing. Good thing the OP's is an auto hehe
