Anyone out there can help with this?

I have a Suberu Sti witht he powerpack engine mods, prodrive wheels. First time out on the track last weekend and the handling was v.poor. The tyres simply would not hold the vehicle.

Currently running Pilot Sport. Are they any good - if so, have I got the pressure wrong?

If not, what is best (i.e. Road legal, works in the wet but has more traction on road/track)?

Thanks for any help

Was it on a circuit or an airfield?

If a circuit then if you want road legal track tyres then the best are either Pirelli P-Zero CORSA or Michelin Pilot Sport CUP – Not cheap though!

If it was an airfield then I would try to get a spare set of wheels and put some cheap rubber (like Yoko A539s) which offer limited grip but help produce huge slides, relatively safely.

I think the Subaru boyz used to love Bridgestone SO2s ... not sure about SO3, but they're bound to be no worse than the SO2s.

I suggest trying Scoobynet (not sure of the URL, but I'm sure you'll find it).

Thanks for the tip, trefor. Scoobyworld recommends Toyo Proxes T1-S.

Also I found an article in "Sport Compact Car" that recommends Toyo Proxes RA1 R which (I think) is road-legal track wets.

m-five - it was Bedford Aerodrome last Saturday. Lots of fun.

Thanks

Anyone tried either?
