Well, in truth it was more like two weeks, but here goes...

I felt guilty pulling it out of the garage in the winter - it isn't used to the cold:

Looking a bit sad in the hotel car park:

Just arrived at the NEC, looking a bit shabby after the drive over:

A couple of pictures from the Pistonheads Show - does anyone have any better ones, my camera couldn't deal with the orange lighting frown:

Not much cop amongst all the exotica, I know. One chap I overheard commenting: "I don't know what the fuss is all about. It's just an old Clio with gold wheels and a few stickers." Probably true, but its MY old Clio and I love it smile.

ahh what does he know... It looks fapping ace if you ask me. Williams' haven't been in nearly every 'best fwd' articles printed for no reason.

Just keep it like that and don't change it.

Porker isn't bad either... smile

Thanks smile - its garaged all year round and only driven for fun. I'm still fixing the last few bits to make it perfect, currently standing at:

New rev counter motor (it only works when it feels like it!)
New keys (I've only got one and its shoddy)
"Kings of Taunton" key fobs (to go with the rear window sticker - sad I know, but they were the supplying dealer)
New mats (on order)
New gear knob (I have one, but I can't figure out how to get the original one off!)
Pull out the pin dent on the bonnet

Thanks again smile. I love them both and can't see myself ever selling either.

I saw this car at PH. How did you get on the stand may I ask? a friend of a friend?

I almost bought a 16valver once. They go well as do the Willy's!

Er... I applied on Pistonheads and they were kind enough to let me go along? It was a proud moment smile. I understand that the 16v is a bit more revvy, which can't be a bad thing!

Wow - those Cup photos are great! I'd really like a Trophy at some point, just to see how the more modern Clios compare to my old timer.

To go with the williams and the porker, that would be a nice little collection.

What a nice car. IMO the hottest hatch ever. And i don't think there will be a hatch as pure as this. But i guess i'am a bit biased, i've got a 1.8 16V myself, but mine is a daily driver.

Great looking car, especially with the turbine alloys cool. It's such a shame that lots of 16 valves (and Williams) have been "modified". People will regret that in years to come, I have no doubt. Other than a Trophy, I'd also like to find a Mk1 "Baccara", although I doubt many of the brown, leathered up auto barges are left these days...

I saw this at Pistonheads and I did question why I've never owned a Clio Williams. I mean really, a mint Williams is about as nice as little front wheel drive hatches get.

You're car had the effect of at least wasting half an hour of my time on classified adds, for that I thank you smile

I had a black 16Valver, terrific wee car.
Never did step up to the Williams as the insurance scared me!

Good work, the car looks stunning!

biggrin no problem - it took me a couple of years of casual looking to find a really good one, but it was well worth the wait and the slightly higher than average purchase price. It's a fun car to own - there are always little bits to do as they're fragile little things, but that's part of the charm.

Cheers mate. I love the old Reno's but mine have to go soon, i think i reached the age where i want something a bit more comfortable for everyday use (I still have the Seven when ever i want some fun). But yeah as you say these old Clio's are getting rarer and rarer by the day. And mines only got 56000 Miles on the Clock.
