Hi there smile after trawling through the forums for a few years now, I thought it was high time I became an active part in them.

Heres my car, its not much compared to most on here, but its reasonably quick, comfortable and economical. Also pretty much the quickest thing I could get sensibly insured on! (Im 19)

It could also do with a clean but with the recent weather il wait till its a bit less wet!

Thanks mate smile

My first car was a 1994 subaru impreza estate (it was only the 1.8 though!) it had done 140k and had seen better days bodywork wise, but only cost me a couple of hundred quid! I loved it, it was so much fun and drove like it only had 60k on the clock, it really was a hoot. Sadly that got written off in November (not my fault got sideswipped on a dual carridgeway) so did a hell of alot of work, and got the mondeo. Its got 108k on the clock and needed 4 new tyres. Apart from that everything else was fine, hasnt put a foot wrong. And its very nice to drive.

Very nice, indeed not at all bad for a 19 year old.

(Similarly a lurker on here - but a little more active on Hexus, where you may recognise the userid from)

Yea, that and the username kinda gave it away :P

What's it like compared with the Scoob? All the TDCis I've been in (all about 3 of them) have been fairly poky but never driven one.

Erm its actually slightly quicker than the scoob, mainly cause I only had the 1.8! The TDCi is very torq-ish which is great for overtaking/suddenly picking up the pace, but. . . you seem to run out of revs pretty quickly, and ive just about mastered pulling out of a junction without the front wheels turning to smoke! But yeah it is very pokey very... economical when I was living in Portsmouth for a week I commuted every day up the m3 and got 625 miles out of a tank. Even when really keeping my foot to the floor, ive never seen less than 500 miles out of a tank, which I think is good.

Only thing though, I really do miss the burble of the scoob frown

Yeah will do once it stops raining!

Its got 130 bhp, and 330NM of torque, ive been thinking about either chipping it or getting it remapped which would bump it to 155-160bhp and the torque would go to 380NM

Yeah they are! it didnt come with any mats, and I literally only had a couple of pounds left in change after my first fill up! so thought they were better than nothing! will have a look on the bay for some!

And yeah gonna wait until my insurance renewel (march) till I get it remaped.

Welcome welcome welcome - that's a fairly amateurish bit of dirtyness there, I suggest some muddy puddles and non-surfaced car parks smile

Im trying and failing to keep this one in better condition than the old scoob, which was great fun to blast down at 30/40 mph down a mud/dirt/gravel lane, with loads of dirty puddles etc!
