This is my little weekend car/project.

Its originaly a 1986 Mk2 Golf Gti 8v in Alpine White.

I bought it in August 06 for the grand sum of £215 and it was in a rather sorry state. Over the course of 16 months or so it has undergone a rather major transformation. I have undertaken every part of the build myself except for the paintwork. Im extremely pleased with it but it is by no means finished (are they ever?), it is due further work over this winter in time for the 08 show season.

I plan on doing a track day or two, some RWYB's at santa pod and then i have a european road tripped planned with my better half in it. I look after it and keep it clean but its by no means just for show. I hope you like it.

CURRENT SPEC:

- Full respray in Alpine White including deleting of side trim, rear wash/wiper, deleted side repeaters, deleted aerial, new front wings and bonnet.,
- Engine conversion consisting of Audi TT 1.8 20v Turbo on Qpeng management running 230bhp and 225lb/ft - Forge DV007, forge carbon engine cover, ramair filter, large FM intercooler, SFS hoses, twin fan, neuspeed stat and fan switch. Cable shift 02A gearbox. switcable map.
- PAS setup added, poly bushed all round, new wishbones.
- 280mm G60 brake setup,braided lines
- BBS RM's - 7.5 x 15 fronts, 8.5 x 15 rears, stainless dishes and gold centers.
- FK konigsport coilovers with Koni dampers.
- full black leather OE interior, heated front seats, corrado rears, audioscape door pods.
- Momo team wheel and knob, AFR, oil pressure and boost gauge.

anyway, some pictures:

Thanks guys smile

Im not entirely sure on pod times. i would anticipate some thing around the mid to low 14's ? itll be in full road trim with all interior, stereo and spare wheel included as well as standard suspension setup and tyres. Although i now have the MAP switch so i can launch with 150bhp and once im out of second, flick the switch for 230bhp which should help. anything under 14.5 will please me alot .....

I'd expect you to be breaking into the very low 14's, if not 13's with 230bhp.

My 205Mi16 with 160BHP used to run 14.5's all day long.

What you reckon it weighs in full trim?

Very nice and bugger me those photos were taken at the apley arms! Your a fellow telfordian then eh?

Im a bit of a closet golf perv myself (3 mk2's and counting..). I really do love the smoothed small bumper look. The CL stone guards look cool as! If I were to build my dream mk2, it wouldn't be far off what you've done there.

Rich smile

Edit: just seen you're from kent, so i'm guessing you may have been to a show up my way?

Looks fantastic matey. A very sensibly and subtley modded car. Excellent work, expecially considering its all been done by yourself.
