Evening PH,

Newbie here, I had no idea this site existed until recently, great site, my name is Jetleon, and this is my Project.

Not great in terms of 0-60, but handling is decent "Post-it note" lemon green interior and matching bed sheet/seat cover, Oversized wheels, heavy rear exhaust, strutbrace, hardtop, audio amplifiers, speakers and sub, all these addons slow it down even more, so number plate removed to compensate rolleyes hoping to complete some sort of engine upgrade to speed things up a little as part of phase II in 2008/2009....Cam, induction, exhaust manifold, electric fan etc etc

Seasons Greetings

regards

Jet

My uncle had a lemon yellow one back in the day when they were newish. Its sooo cool driving around with the doors down, lol.

I think they came with the e30 325 engine so I'm assuming if you can get hold of a higher spec 4 cyclinder BMW engine it should go in. Not sure if a 6 cyclinder will fit in though.

The E30 325 unit is a six cylinder, so there should be some scope from power.

Hmmmm - would the engine from one of these slot right in?

Wikipedia is my friend, lol. Always assumed it was a four cyclinder since the M3 is only a 4.

It also mentions some of the German tuners fit 2.7l or 2.5l turbocharged engines in the car and atleast one Z1 has been modified with an E34 M5 engine.

The problem is, once you make irreversible changes to this car, not only does it devalue the car, selling it becomes a problem, buyers would rather invest in a standard version,so I have to keep my options open and resort to "internal changes" only.
I have considered the E36 M3, that fits, but as Tony suggested, I think the 2.7 is the way to go, retaining all the original numbers and equipment
