Does sound a beast but that fuel consumption is dreadful, can you do anything to improve it and stop it loosing fuel?

Thats a healthy increase in torque. Not surprised it feels perky!

You must be around 200bhp/tonne now thumbup

What! That's the same as my 911 Turbo! Must be something not quite right, methinks?! Nice colour on the VXR, btw, much nicer than the usual red.

I don't quite have the power that Dizzy has, nor the same car but I get awful MPG. A couple of flat out laps of coombe got me 4mpg...eek

If I drive it extremely gently and don't hit the loud pedal I get around 30mpg, but when I stick my foot down its all about smiles per mile! biggrin

When I get my bigger intercooler fitted and the RS2 airbox strapped on and a live map I should be seeing around 300bhp too! wink

Anyway, top car James and it must sound awesome now (as if it didn't sound good before!).

My standard S3 gets worse MPG than a 996 Turbo when on a spirited run (mainly because mine is probably working a touch harder than the 911 to achieve the same results hehe).

hold on so you have had this work done at a place that have remapped it and have no rolling road facilities and your getting flames out the back of it? I would suggest they dont have a clue what they are doing m8!

I have a megane 225 f1 with similar mods (although have kept to original bore size on the exhaust as increasing bore on cars with small turbos like the megane and VXR can actually loose you some power) I get no flames but a solid 265/270 bhp and 25+ mpg

To me if they have no rolling road they may have well have posted you the chip to plug in and you send them your old one. Looks nice though. The only thing I would say is, that having had a 300bhp FWD car before, i'd go RWD or AWD to get the best. But as long as you like it... enjoy!
