I'm new and thought i'd post a pics or two of my new car (had an MR2, now have purchased this about 8 weeks back)

Its quite suttle from the outside with only clues being the carbon bonnet and boot, and if you look closer the Apex racing brakes with detachable alloy bells which barely fit under the wheels!

Running over 350hp i'm told

Since getting the car i've done:

1.Removed alloy plating that last owner had put on the dash, it looked a bit cheap on the car so back to black dash now
2. Removed the silver AVC-R Boost controller, and fitted the black limited edition one i had here
3. Removed the somewhat cooked ferodo DS2500 pads and fitted a set of project MU fast road pads, the bite is amazing now
4. Rebuilt one of the calipers at the front, as it was a little sticky (Corrosion on the pistons, stupid cast calipers!)
5. Replaced the VTC Variable intake cam sprocket as it was ticking like a diesel van!
6. Refitted the Apex Racing Oil cooler and filter relocation kit as it was seeping a little
7. New plugs, oil change, filters e.c.t.
8. Nismo Gearknob from japanland just arrived today biggrin

Next up.
1. Greddy Front Mount intercooler to replace the Apex Racing Front mount.
2. Suspension sorted - coilovers or the like, antirolls bars upgrade and camber all sorted properly.
3. Subframe bushes upgrade, engine mounts upgrade, gearbox mounts upgrade
4. Wheels - the car seriously struggles to put power down right now, if the weather is bad its 10 times worse! needing something very wide!
5. New Cams - Wish to free up a little more power, and i've been advised by the tuner that built the engine this should see me in the 400hp region.

Love the car to bits accelerates brutally in every gear, could very much get me into trouble! Handling i feel will be decent when the upgrades are done, but at the moment its not great!. Brakes are good and the interior is very comfortable and doesn't rattle at all like my old MR2 did. I really want the car to handle well, as i'm used to the sorted MR2 handling and i like a backroad bash every now and then and the SX isn't really all that fun on a backroad at the moment

Thanks for the nice words smile

On insurance, actually insurance is very cheap!

when considering a new car i looked the following
Audi S4
DC2 Integra
EVO V
EVO VII
Celica GT4
200SX S14A

And the nissan was much cheaper than the rest...including the DC2 which is a 1.8 litre engined FWD car (however i do love them and its the only FWD car i'd own!)

I believe the S4 was the next cheapest and the EVO 5 being the most expensive. So if you do want one: Check out the insurance, it may be cheaper than you think thumbup

I am surprised you can get the power down with normal wheels/tyres! You might want to say hello to the guys on SXOC.com for all things technical.

i did have a square front plate but it did a fast an furious on the motorway!

The carbon is seibon stuff, far from cheap!

I actually cannot get the power down, in the dry just accelerating through the gears it will light up both back wheels in third which is scary!

In the wet its terrifying, in 4th accelerating is just scary!, generally in the wet i run base boost 0.6 bar to try to tame the car but it doesn't help much.

Looking at new wheels for her, but being self employed means tax bill january so it'll be after then frown

It's "quite" a sleeper for a car putting out that power. The general public wouldn't expect it and no doubt, would surprise them.

i think its quite a sleeper - the carbon blends in with the black, the stock wheels hide the apex racing brakes and the intercooler and oil cooler are not that noticable at the front either biggrin

OK so you might see it and think, its an SX - 200hp or whatever they are when stock, but your probably not going to think its much nearer double that biggrin
