it handles like its on rails, almost zero body roll, though it can get a bit choppy at speed. Very well balanced, no understeer and very little oversteer, even in the wet. Its not as slow as everyone expects it to be, and the combination of its Porsche-esque engine note, flappy-paddle gearbox and chattering wastegate makes for a very fun drive and can quite easily give much bigger cars a good run for their money on a backlane blast biggrin

I do miss the delsol every day, but i dont miss its running costs, though the sound of Vtec was very infectious, especially through the AEM CAI intake system i had fitted to it. However the smart just beats it in driving fun, but in a completely different way, the CRX didnt handle anywhere near as well as the smart does, and drank twice as much fuel. That said, how i wish i could of afforded to have both of them laugh

got 57mpg out of her yesterday on a run down to London, driving 'normally' and with a passenger (neither of us are particularly dainty)

now also includes red-dot 6 groove discs and fast road pads, and oooooh what a difference they make! ABS has a hard time keeping the wheels rolling

These really are very cool, if the prices fall a bit more then i could well be tempted by one, i know the gearbox is supposed to be a weak spot, do you really notice it much or do you just get used to it?

murray loves the things, and there has been rumors/press releases of a new AC Ace using the roadster chassis and engine, but with a manual GB

the box isnt as bad as everyone says, its made by Getrag and takes about the same about of time to change gear as a convensional manual, its just that in this world of seamless shift and ferraris with paddle shifts it seems slow, but you have to remember that the box is in a car that cost about £15k new, not £150k

a guy i know has a brabus one of these (wont admit to him being my mate). itssoo rubbish its unbelievable. and a replacement alloy was a pisstake price. he gets a good ripping where-ever he goes for being such a gay hairdresser. good mpg but soo queer.

Wouldn't say the Brabus version looks 'queer' to be honest - the standard one maybe a bit but no worse than an mx5 or similar. I tend to think people on here buy their cars for how they drive rather than how they look. The alloys for them are bound to be expensive being Brabus brand n' all... I had a recent look into these and the only thing that puts me off is what people say - the gearbox. Apparently a remap can speed this up slightly though i'd still expect it to be a bit too slow. Love the idea of it though so may get a test drive in one some day to maybe change my mind...

I wouldn't worry about him, he probably drives a 1.2 Corsa which he thinks is 'well wikkid'

good to know you aren't so blinkered.

Choc, those pics taken around hawksworth in Swindon??

I like smarts, recently sold a Four2 pulse. Missus hated it, I loved it. Different league (as in vauxhall conference) where it comes to handling (the 4-2 that is!) but such a fun car to drive.

The engines whilst not being rip-roarind are bloody nippy especially from the stand still and whilst 60 takes an age its fun getting there. Certainly the flappy paddle I found worked really well once you adapt to its behaviours.

NEver been in the roadster but always fancied them even if they do make me gay rolleyes

Glad to see you're enjoying it!

no he drives a focus ST (renowned for their torque queer, sorry, steer), a Galaxy (the punishment for fathers up and down the country that cannot get the decent S-Max) and an e320 for those days when being gay just isnt enough (despite a nancy name).

And is subsequently an embarassment to all other owners of these vehicles up and down the country?

Well it wouldnt be fair to tarr all the drivers of said vehicles would it? Unless its a smart and in which case they are definitely gayers according to our Kalvin.

On this website a car is not just taken for its looks, but for the way it handles and the overall performance of the car. A focus ST is a nice car, but I would probaly have the OP's Smart or a Brabus any day as if the day is right you can whip off the roof, find a twisty road and has an awesome time.

So please return back under your bridge and leave us alone.

p.s next time you post, grab a dictionary or a book on grammer, that would be awesome thumbup
