I agree it would be a lot better if you could hear the engines properly, I have tried various methods of muffling the mike including putting it inside a 4" block of foam inside my jacket, but still seems to pick up wind noise (strange as you get no buffeting within the cockpit at all)at anything more than about 30mph. Any suggestions gladly welcomed!
I think i need to get it right back by the exhausts, but would have thought wind noise would be even worse out on the open bodywork.

"what engine does it have and what is the performance like?"
It has 2 Kawasaki 1000 ZX10 engines, one driving each rear wheel, giving approx 274 BHP, the car weighs around 600kg so around 400 BHP per ton. 0 - 60 takes about 3 & 1/2 secs, don't ask me what top speed is as i wouldn't be that brave/stupid on the public road!

BTW the one with the Alfa flat four is a different car - doesn't have a passenger seat, but is a more accurate copy of (I think)a 1999 or thereabouts F1 Ferrari, it was up for sale about a year ago for £29,995!!!!!! Dunno if it sold tho'. Didn't know it had been in Autosport, mine was on front cover of Kitcar Nov '05, has always had it's twin engines & yes, they do make a glorious sound - unfortunately not quite F1 like tho'

There must be something about Kawasaki engines !!, my Lotus is fitted with a race tuned ZX9R producing about 150 bhp weight 400kg.I think i need to get it right back by the exhausts, but would have thought wind noise would be even worse out on the open bodywork.
similar problem with wind noise , in the process of having the car painted in the Lotus 49 team colours , I will increase the windscreen height and length that should solve the problem , if you have the microphone in the cockpit it should reduce the wind noise.
