Lunacy! Crazy fun!

You should race.... you won't get anywhere though unless the pair of you weigh less than Kate moss.... combined!

Its crazy fun alright,where-as a touring car will pull 1.5G max, this thing will pull 3 as well as standing on its tail doing doughnuts, not that id ever be so childish, hehe,id love to race them, unfortunately the Zapcat world revolves around the south coast, which isnt any good for someone living in Lancashire,so until they do have some races up here ill just have to stick to showing the jet-ski,s how to turn corners!

How difficult are they to control? Like you I'm in Blackpool but I may be involved in a Zapcat race in Scotland in April (part of the Drambuie Pursuit).

I've never even sailed a powered dinghy before nevermind a Zapcat!

Childs play to pilot! They are designed as affordable mini inshore powerboat racers for people that know nothing about inshore powerboat racing!

Mad mad fun....

all you need is a bright orange crash helmet and away you go! smile

A very cheap form of motorsport actually!

Great little social scene as well and you can tell people you race powerboats hahahah

Or not! They were designed as inshore lifeboats in South Africa because the boats they had couldnt get out through the surf, and needed something to jump over it.As long as you can keep control of a boat pulling 3G and leap up to 4-5meters out of the water, keeping it level whilst also being able to do 45knotts youll do fine, obviously some people consider them a childs toy,but im a child and he obviously doesnt know what he,s talking about!

Yes... because obviously I have no experience of Zapcats at all and am just making it up.

a Chimp could get in a Zapcat and work it out. Throttle and err.... thats it! Obviously mastering one and winning races (or actually finishing them as it turned out) is another matter but compared to everything else I have ever done on water... Zapcats were Childsplay!

Semi agreed,i did quite a lot of yaughting this summer and thats not the easiest to learn,i can only compare zapcatting to is drifting, whether thats flat out on calm water or leaping over 20ft waves, its all about learning how to balance the weight of the boat to how much wind is going under it to how much throttle your giving it,get it wrong and the boats on its back.
It would be like saying kartings childplay, hitting a golf balls childplay, opening a throttle on a zapcats childsplay, all true, huge difference between that and actually being able to do it,as i found to my cost on several occasions whilst sailing, getting hit round the head by the boom, tipping it over, sitting motionless etc etc

I couldn't even begin to sail.... although officially I am actually a record holder smile

I was on Maximus the day she broke the Cowes record. All I did was sit on one side and then move to the other when they told me to though! A Sailor I will never be!

Childs play it isn't!

Incredible watching them all do their job! we sponsered Leopard 3 this year and I got on again. No records this time.
