My VW's (Corrado & Golf gti)
Discussion
Hi just joined up and thought this would be a good place to introduce myself and post up a couple of pictures of my cars.
firstly my Corrado, its a 1990 16v that i have owned for just over a year now. The car is almost totally standard with the only modifications being some lowered suspension and a 280mm momo race steering wheel. Since i have owned the car most of my work has been in overhauling the mechanics with new brakes/suspension/exhaust etc etc as the car has covered just over 185k miles now but is still going strong and a joy to drive:
The pictures were from a photoshoot i had to do for some promotional stuff for work:
and one with me (not quite as nice as the model im afriad ):
My other car is a 1991 golf gti 8v which i bought a couple of weeks ago to do up as a project, I will probably end up giving this one to my mrs to try and encourage her to get a bit more into the cars so she does not moan about the Corrado as much. The car has all the toys you expect for a late gti (ps, leccy windows etc) and came with mot, tax and a cat1 alarm all for £150!! It does need a bit of tlc though as the head gasket has gone but im realiably informed this is not to major on an 8v:

Yellow was a massively underated colour on the Corrado. I think they discontinued it pretty quickly.
Head gasket - can do that yourself in an afternoon. Buy a genuine VW head gasket and a headgasket set from GSF and use everything but the head gasket from that.
The girlie looks Was she nice or did she love herself?!

Yeah the colour is definatly a bit of a "marmite" one, i was not even sure myself when i bought the car but its grown on me and i love it now. I have been told its pretty rare.Head gasket - can do that yourself in an afternoon. Buy a genuine VW head gasket and a headgasket set from GSF and use everything but the head gasket from that.
