This is my VW Golf Mk3 1.8 8V GL:
Modifications include:
Kent 270* Cam Kit
Stage 2 gas flowed port polished head
ECU/Injection System from a MK2 GTI
ECU Chip
Green pannel filter - Drilled Airbox
4-2-1 Manifold
Full exhaust system - De-cat 2.5" piping
Uprated Suspension
Rear Disk Brake Conversion
Front 280mm Cross Drilled and Grooved Brakes
Green Stuff Pads
..................................................................................................................
My Racing Kart:
Intrepid Silverstone with 15bhp World Formula engine... at the moment... will soon be fitting a 29.5bhp PRD Fireball RK125W07 Engine . So in performance figures (for the new motor) 0-60 around sub 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 85ish mph at my local circuit, with cornering about 2.5+ lateral G .
.......................................................................................................................
This is my local circuit btw where I race the kart.
Paul
Edit: Also I should mention I am only 17 (still studying my A-levels) and that this is my first car, I plan on eventually getting a 205 and build a rally car (maybe when I'm at uni and have plenty student loans... ... one can dream).

Yeah, so what??? Are we meant to do cartwheels or something??
actually he's a jolly nice chapWelcome matey, nice set of wheels!
How did you get into the karting?
Then came my first race 1/2 way through the season with a grid of 17 other drivers, I managed to qualify 5th on the grid, which I was very surprised and pleased with. Unfortunately at the second corner(the dogs leg) I spun out being a novice and on cold tyre and dropped back to about 14th (if I remember correctly), then throughout that race I charged through finally finishing in 6th place. And it basically carried on from there winning a few trophies and having some fairly bad crashes as well, to where I am now about to switch to a different class.

So how does the dub sounds with all that? Is the cam lumpy sounding?
It sounds pretty good. Has an awesome Induction Roar, and also has a very raspy exhaust note with some nice sounding backfires. The cam isn't lumpy at all, it idles pretty decently although it has lost low down power and torque, and instead the power comes in around 4000 rpm all the way to the limit at 6500rpm.ridds said:

Not a big fan of those wheels on the Golf to be honest, but the Kart looks serious fun!
Wish I was doing that when I was 17
Well that’s alright I want to get some different wheels anyway , some light weight Billet Aluminium ones, that are also a bit smaller to.Wish I was doing that when I was 17
