Mk1 GOlf Gti Cabrio
Discussion
New to the forum but been around dubs for a while, thought i'd post some pics of my long suffering cabriolet.
Inherited off my parents as they were going to flog it silly cheap as it was a non-runner and i was looking for a mk1 gti (albeit hardtop) at the time.
since owning it (3 years) i have lowered it on coilovers and done the obligatory 2ltr 16v swap (corrado 9a lump) which is being ripped out over the next few months for an ABF 16v and some weber 45's.
anyways here are some pics.
ps i know german plates are illegal and i don't care

Welcome to PH mate
Lovely looking Cab you've got there. I love those alloys.
What sort of power are you looking to get out of the new engine?
Thanks for the welcome, the new engine should see 170bhp at the flywheel if all goes well. Don't feel the need for much more in a car with the chassis rigity of a wet flannel. Lovely looking Cab you've got there. I love those alloys.

alloys have now changed again to the correct spec, blue with diamond cut edges (BNIB from VW )havent got any pics due to the car being in pieces at the moment haha.

I'm ahead of the fashion again (stand still long enough and you're back at the front) and still thinking young
Fantastic to see even younger people than me using classics
Mk1s for me, smaller, lighter and the original, a real jump forward when they first arrived
