New to the forum but been around dubs for a while, thought i'd post some pics of my long suffering cabriolet.

Inherited off my parents as they were going to flog it silly cheap as it was a non-runner and i was looking for a mk1 gti (albeit hardtop) at the time.

since owning it (3 years) i have lowered it on coilovers and done the obligatory 2ltr 16v swap (corrado 9a lump) which is being ripped out over the next few months for an ABF 16v and some weber 45's.

anyways here are some pics.

ps i know german plates are illegal and i don't care tongue out

Thanks for the welcome, the new engine should see 170bhp at the flywheel if all goes well. Don't feel the need for much more in a car with the chassis rigity of a wet flannel. biggrin

alloys have now changed again to the correct spec, blue with diamond cut edges (BNIB from VW cool )havent got any pics due to the car being in pieces at the moment haha.

Very nice

Being an old git I prefer the steel wheels (that should upset most under 50) smile

don't worry, so do I (23), friend of mine runs a MK2 golf r32 on steel wheels, proper street sleeper.

they're making a comeback, plus they are cheap as.

woohoo

I'm ahead of the fashion again (stand still long enough and you're back at the front) and still thinking young

Fantastic to see even younger people than me using classics thumbup

Mk1s for me, smaller, lighter and the original, a real jump forward when they first arrived

If steel wheels are too popular I'm going to have to change my mind as I don't want to be fashionable at my age hehe

5 x Scalas (body coloured with diamond cut edges BNIB from VW)
4 x Pirelli P-Slots
