Signed up ages ago (but forgot my username and password.) Anyhoo been lurking about the forum for a while but never posted.
I drive an rx7 -

well the 15 year old paintwork was getting tired so I decided to get it painted, however I decided to do it a little different to usual and do the prep work myself... Anyways after stripping it of its bodykit and still failing to get it up the little hill into the unit I had arranged to use most of the prepping was done in my drive (My garage is too full of rubbish to get the car in just now.)

A bit more rubbing and some primer used to fill chips etc and flat the area of stone chip at the bottom of the doors -

With the prep done I had to do a kamakazee run in the early hours of the morning to the paint shop which is about 5 mins from my house, once I get there I was given the job of masking it up and it was then put in the booth -

It was then primered which then had to be rubbed down again ( I thought I was done with this rubbing malarky)

So once the primer was rubbed it was back in for the black -

Baked and back outside -

All the kit and mirrors etc was painted seperately -

So all it needed was to be flatted and buffed, all this is complete now but I have lost the lead for my camera. So then I bought a Porter Cable which I need to work out how to wire to work over here and I should be ready to keep it in tip top condition!!:thumb:

Then it was on with the new wheels, Ultralite Takas 8.5" fronts and 9.5" rears with some 235/40/18s and 265/35/18s unfotunately there was no stock of eagle F1's in the rear size anywhere so its toyo T1R's went on-

There is pictures of it now complete which I will upload once I get this camera working again. Until then here is th spec -

Mazda RX-7 Type-R

Street ported engine
Apexi PFC ECU mapped to 292 @ rear wheels, approx 350 @ flywheel
Apexi AVCR boost controller
850cc injectors primary and secondary
Blitz induction
Sard uprated SMIC
Blitz BOV
Bullion uprated alluminium radiator

HKS downpipe
R-Magic silenced midpipe

HKS turbotimer

Tanaka Racing Suspension

Cwest front bumper with late spec lights
Cwest sideskirts
Mazdaspeed rear spoiler
Late spec rear lights
Recaro Speed drivers seat
Personal steering wheel

I have also recently purchased a corsa which I am currently in the process of building into a track car -

Started stipping the interior out and also fitted my Comp Mo's (which will be getting refurbed.) The car as you can see has gone a bit pink but its solid, so it will be getting resprayed over the next few weeks.

Got some tarox f2000 discs and corsa+ pads on the way and just fitted my Spax coilovers at the weekend. Last night I got the standard manifold off ready to put on my 4-2-1 Ashley one then get the Ashley competion system made up (came in kit form) Got a few more bits and bobs waiting to go on too. Also ordering a FRP Bonnet as mines a little rotten at the front and this wasnt much more than a new bonnet.

Want to spray my car? lol biggrin

Looks very nice, good choice of wheels too. Are you going to keep that exhaust tip or opt for something else?

I will be keeping the exhaust as it is a Blitz Nurspec, it just needs a clean!

the rex looks great, is that engine in the corsa the red top 2.0 from the calibra?

Yeah its an XE / redtop out a calibra. Got the new manifold on last night so the exhaust is being made up tonight.

So now on the look out for a pair of bucket seats and cheap roll cage for the corsa (before I have to stump up the cash for a new ones.) also thinking of getting some whiteline ARBs. Then get the rest of the gauges fitted to the RX7 and polish it ready for Trax.
