Brilliant little cars - I nearly bought one myself, until I discovered their propensity to rust in the godawful British climate.

Thanks guys!
There are a few hundred in Aus but hardley anyone knows what they are, it's funny if I beat a v8 or big car from the lights since it's half the size of them smile

lol! I had these plates on another car which actually did stand out (big V8, loud exhaust etc) but couldn't resist the opportunity to chuck them on this car being the opposite! biggrin People frequently cut me off or don't notice me. Had to put airhorns in it for those moments!

I had one

A proper sports car - embryo Viper - great fun, especialy on UK B-roads

ETA: I kept mine standard except for changing to a leather steering wheel and (shorter) gear knob and a K&N filter element (inside standard air box)

I made a new dash cluster for mine over the last few days, turned out pretty well (It's only trial fitted in the recovered dash atm, the position will be better afterwards)smile

That wasn't about when I had my Capp

Some useful original bits here
http://www.suzuki-cappuccino.com/phpbb2/viewforum....

From your photos I see lovely detailing - there are a few customised and powered-up Capps about over here

I just changed as posted above and used it as my everyday car, kept it serviced and drove it a lot, great fun

Lack of weather proofing to the rear shows up on our winter salted roads (a lot less salting now the weather is less stable), still the same with Kei cars over here my wife's Copen is less than 4 years old and Daihatsu has had to replace rear panel (five year warranty)

ETA: they were only available over here new in limited numbers officially in red (80%) and sliver (20%), I test drove one new with my friend as he was interested in buying one (no way could I have afforded a new one then £12,000 in 1994)

I got mine fourth hand in 2001, still selling for £6,000 even then

Your capp looked very nice! Mine is my daily driver too smile It's great when you out accelerate a V8 or similar and they are forever trying to make you look bad the rest of the trip! biggrin

Don't know about out accelerating a V8, my Capp was standard (I've had a few RV8 engined cars too)

That photo is from one of our club's tours ( www.sportingbears.org.uk ) and on that tour I was behind a Ferrari on very narrow lanes which the Ferrari found difficult to negotiate so was holding me up in the Capp, once I got by him I never saw it on the road again all afternoon

On another Bears tour in mountainous north of England again the small agile Capp was able to take advantage and pass a Cobra V8 couldn't get passed a Porsche at a deserted T-junction as the driver (a friend) opened his door to block my line "to let the clutch out" - I'd just lost him on a straight where the Capp limiter came in and dropped the engine from three to two cylinders, the speedo needle was on its maximum number 90 mph (indicated, I was of course not doing this speed, limiter comes in at 83/85 mph)

I loved it a car where you can have such fun, take it to full clock and still keep you license and life

Hi Capgun wink Good to see another ClubCappo member on here :P

Anyone who was on the FB5K Alpine Tour this year should know how well these cars can keep up considering their displacement-deficiency biggrin

Put the interior I have been making over the last six months or so recently, nicer to drive surrounded by full leather instead of grey vinyl and plastic!
