newbie intro + car
Discussion
Hi! Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Craig, and have been a life long gearhead here in the States. Been around cars for my entire life and now have been working in the family business which is a bespoke chassis manufacturer of performance road car/hot rod/drag race chassis and suspension components www.artmorrison.com - for those who want to have a look. I'm married to a Brit, so I make it to the UK quite a bit and know my way around East Sussex pretty well now. I will be going to the Autosport show this year and really looking forward to it. Because of business, I travel to a lot of shows over here in the States, so I'll be posting lots of pics. Enough about me, here's some car pics.
This is my car. It is a 1940 Ford Deluxe Opera Coupe. It has an 8.5L V8 (What's a carbon footprint LOL) with custom chassis and suspension. Standing 1/4 mile in 10.71 seconds at around 125mph.
This one belongs to my father, and was a company project car. 1955 Chevrolet, 7L V8, custom chassis and 6 speed trans. 0.94g skidpad, 12.40 standing 1/4 mile and 0-60 in 4.2 seconds. Great fun!
Well, that's it for now. I really like the site and look forward to being able to be part of the group.
Cheers!

Welcome!
Art Morrison is a well known name indeed for Drag Racing hot rod gear. I am sure there is someone that is a member on here with an Art Morrisson dragster chassis kit here. I love your 55 chevy and looks pretty damn cool with those rims!
I have to say that your 40 Coupe looks pretty damn sweet aswell. Where is your local track?
Next time your in England why not come to Santa Pod, September is the best time as we will have an overdose of Nitro! There will be over 300 sportsman cars too ranging from 6.5 to 14 seconds.
By the way this is our family dragster:

Super comp dragster. SBC with rons flying toilet, 2 speed shorty glide etc. 8.60 @ 160 with the wrong throttle stop setting in it!

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome! I have heard a lot about Santa Pod, and will definitely have to go there for a meet sometime. As far as pics, I have a lot of them.

And the 55 build. We named the project GT55, because it was our spin on what a 50's era GT car can be today. There's lots of buildup pics of this car as well as some snappies of when the car was being tested. Like I said, it has a 6 speed trans, so out on the highway 6th gear at only 1700rpm and you are running at 75mph. 2000rpm is right at 100mph and it cruises very nicely at that speed. Here is a teaser shot of the engine compartment.
