Hi all

I'm relatively new here and this is my first sports car.

It's a '99 1.8 SE with tan leather and Nardi wood trim. Only mods are the wheels, grill and number plate. Only had it a few weeks and already done one day ay Donnington and two days at the 'Ring!

Now all I need is a bit more power.....................

Did you buy those wheels yourself?

I did! Love them or hate them aren't they. I got them cheap because they were ex-display with a few minor marks on them (£330 with the tyres). Yellow(ish) wheels on a BRG car. That's traditional that is!

Nice bargain..... but I wouldn't have them myself.

The rest of the car is very nice though, hoping to have one myself in a few years thumbup

Have to say those wheels aren't the best for such a well known car.

Hmm... Looks like I love them and every one else hates them! Still you'll know it's me if you see the car out and about.............

To me, that's a two-seater convertible.

Rear wheel drive, two seats, great handling. How can that not be a sports car? (As I'm new I haven't had this debate yet......)

hehehehe

2 seat + open top + (relatively) lightweight = commonly accepted definition of a sportscar

I count three seats in that pic tongue out

Edit - I see your point though,
maybe I should add, hard to get into and out of with any degree of dignity, especially if parked alongside a high kerbed pavement smile

Of Course its a sports car.

Front engined, rear wheel drive, lightweight and mechanically simple.

If that isnt a sports car then niether are any of the classic MG's, Lotus's and the like.
