Hello fellow Pistonheaders smile

Just picked up a MK2 Golf running an APX engine and Emerald management. I know the chap I bought it off of bought it from here. Just wondering if anyone recognises it or knows any info about it, like when the conversion was done and by whom, cheers in advance for any help.

Its pretty unique I think running air con and cruise control etc so shouldnt be do difficult to recognise.

Jatinder, yes that be me smile

Stu, nice to meet a previous owner. I was manily after who had built it as it would seem to have been done well, odd things on it like the a/c make me curious, just wondered if that was added later etc. Also its bust a clutch cable and I wondered what one to refit, I have sourced an Ibiza 16v one as thats what normally goes with the cable/hydraulic bracket.

Drop me a line winkrossjamesclarke@hotmail.com

Yep that was a car we converted a few years back.

You are correct it did go like stink, should still have a GTD badge on the rear?

The aircon was fully working made up from MK3 and tractor parts!

Looks good in the pics could be tempted to buy it back?

Give me a ring if you want info on it

Have the speedo and rev counter ever worked after the engine conversion? I have located the RPM tacho signal from the ECU, just wondering if that would work if hooked up to the rev counter.

Lovely car, A/C was an option on the MKIIs, oh just read its a MK3 unit, oops!

Never heard of cruise being fitted but useful with all the power for mway driving.

Are you taking it to any shows this year, it's too good to hide away smile

I would like to get it to some shows if possible. Hoping to be at ED38 for at least one day over that weekend. The body needs some attention, bonnet is very dented and there are a few dings about but it does polish up nice. 16" Azevs (now on my Polo meanwhile) are mint.

Plans are to add a few mods for reliability and performance gains.

Hydraulic clutch conversion
Rebuilt 02J gearbox and latter spec shift cables with B+M short shifter
Uprated Corrado G60 clutch and L+B flywheel (old clutch destroyed by previous owner)
Larger front mounted intercooler so can run a little more boost
Big clean up of engine bay, stitch welding seams and removing non required parts
Relocation of battery to rear seat area
Removal of interior
Roll cage
New custom exhaust with high flow downpipe.

When fitting the Hydraulic master cylinder for the clutch make sure you make up some plates to brace the bulkhead where it mounts through it.

I had a G60 converted Mk2 and the G60 shells have bracing here for the clutch, we didnt do this on mine and it eventually ripped through needing some awkward welding to sort out.
