Seeing as you lot seem to be having mucho fun I was feeling left out so decided to share my P&J with you.

She's an E30 M3 EvoII with 27,000 miles on the clock and 1 previous owner. A german F1 driver from the 50's who kept the car in a heated garage at his castle in Bonn. The car is completely original/standard down to OE tyres and stereo, exactly as it left the factory in 1988, all bar a few stone chips anyway, oh and a ACS strut brace.

Crikey! What a find! Looks stunning.

Also serves as a reminder that tartan is not only fashionable north of the border. hehe

hehe Yes seems a strange choice for the Bavarians in 1988, those crazy Germans.

Oh, and as an aside i've been looking at those E36 318is coupes like the one in your profile for my next car. How do you rate it? Got enough power to be interesting, and what's the chassis balance like? I'd love a more powerful RWD car but i reckon i'm going to be limited to something like that for another year because of insurance (and the fact i'm not going to get finance to buy a car in my current financial position)!

Sorry for the questions,
Rob.

Hello Rob,
The 318is might only have 140bhp but it's lively enough. OK, it's no power house but the turn of speed is surprising and you can easily find yourself doing some serious "sensible" speeds in no time. I think this is down to the chassis and general build quality as your well insualated on one hand but the chassis does provided enough feel and feedback to have confidence and plenty of fun. Not really enough grunt to worry about the rear sliding unless your really trying and mine has TC. My car also has the Sport pack so has the mtech suspension but I think most of the coupes came with this anyway, could be wrong. I recommend the car for sure, obviously a 6 pot 2.8 would be better but I specificaly wanted a 4 pot, lighter front end and with the associated running costs and insurance at the time.
Feel free to ask any questions not a problem. HTH

My first car was an E30 318i, great car wish I had never sold it, would love to try an E30 M30.

Vunderbar.

I have a buying guide for these in my archives for one day when I'd love to find a good one.

What a great example of this iconic coupe.

Thanks for the kind comments

The original owner was a guy called Victor Rolf who drove in several series inc. F1 during the 50's. I have some info about him but most search results appear in German which is a bit tricky ja!

One of the nicest cars I've EVER seen on this forum. Wonderful, you must be very proud of it! Any chance of some videos of it in action?

Thanks mate very kind. Yes I am very proud of her, took me a few years to find what I was looking for after traipsing up and down the country viewing so called A1 condition cars only to be dissapointed. Don't have any videos, yet, but will be sure to share when I do get round to it. As you can probably understand I don't intend to use this car on the track, allthough it would be nice but she's in too good a condition I feel and wouldn't want to risk anything, I would never forgive myself if anything stupid happened.

ETA - she sleeps here during the winter. (yes I am completely addicted)
