thats a lovely looking GTV! i like the look of that exhaust system, i can imagine that must really enhance what is an already great sounding engine!
i am very keen on the GTV's particularly the original GTV6 as IMO that was more a musical instrument than an engine!
enjoy it! thumbup

That looks lovely, especially that red interior.

Lovely. Not sure about the filler cap - did you get the original with it?

he bought it from a chav hehe

note the handbrake handle too.

nice car otherwise. I bet that sounds good with the stainless DTM (German) exhaust.

I'm in 2 minds about the filler cap although I have seen a few GTVs with them. I will have a look at how to get it off.

The handbrake is a little OTT but I can live with it. It did have a shiney gear knob as well but it was rubbish to use.

i just noticed it was a quad exhaust tip system. even better! can you polish the tips to make them more noticeable?

Yeah, when I picked it up from the dealer they were nice and shiney. Not so much now but I haven't had time to give it a proper spit and polish.

Just realised you may actually be taking the pee! Anyways, either or I like the way the exhaust looks and more importantly sounds. Be it chav or not.

I was thinking though, is it possible to paint the exhaust tips black? Just a pondering.

No, I wasn't taking the piss. Alfa V6 + interesting exhaust system = nice sound.

Not keen on the petrol flap and handbrake, though. Defo straight from Halfords.

Still a stunning looking car, can't see them ever ageing.. best interior too.

I *think* the handbrake is an Alfa item. I have seen a few of them in Alfas. Mine also came with a chrome gear knob but I had them change it as I didn't like the way it felt :gaysmilie:

Never really occured to me it was out of place.

I'll have a look at the cap but unless it is an easy job it is staying I'm afraid.

Thanks for comments all.

I really like Alfa Romeo's one of my friends dad used to have. They seem to have some unique charm to them. I prefer them to Mercedes Slks because of there a rarer occurance and have that italian passion.

IIRC you're right. Not a factory option but a dealer-fit one from the "Alfa Style" catalogue, as was the gear knob presumably.

Re: economy, I usually get about 18mpg around town, rising to mid-20's on the open road.

Couldn't agree more. I use to have a 328i coupe sport and as accomplished as it was (and it was a great car that cost me nothing) it didn't have the charm of the Alfa. I look forward to driving the Alfa whereas the BMW was more of a car for A to B driving, all be it a very good one.

Consumption sounds about right then. It's worth it just for the noise.

Those nasty petrol caps are normalls bloody drilled on, so it's new fuel-flap time I'm afraid... though you may be lucky!!!

Black with red Momo is still the best combo along with red with tan Momo...

I think it depends on how you drive it.

It costs about £55 to fill it up and I think I'll be lucky to see 300 miles with about 100 of those being on the motorway.

At the end of the day I don't really mind. I love the car, the noise and the experience. Getting a little less mpg doesn't worry me.
