Just thought i would share with you some pictures of my track toy i built a few years back and still enjoy. Yes i know its a nova, but i built it myself with the help of a few friends. It started out as a bit of fun involving 12 working days of hard graft and £500, the first £100 was buying a clean shell which meant a chapagne coloured 1.2 nova. Following this we stripped and stitch welded the chassis and generally built it to my own personal requirements

A quick reshell of what i had currently and this was the outcome. It has been timed at santa pod doing a consistent 14.3 @ 96mph but its heart is on the track

Nope i'm afraid not, apart from a very rare santa pod visit it generally lives on track in the summer months with a few road miles in the mix then goes away for winter

Evening Coog wavey

Busta, race laugh laugh I think those days are long gone when i got all excited in my late teens/early 20's. Nah seriously it has only been ran on pod the one day, 3 runs all exactly the same time was enough for me, esp as it was a first attempt in this car. It could possibly go a snatch quicker but 14.3 was enough for me. i probably only cover 2k miles a year on the road absolute tops, the rest of the time i am abusing it on track and enjoying the aspects I built it for .

Basically its my toy to escape the insanity of my 2 daughters and wife and saves me abusing my other cars rofl

extremely well considering, but then i have set the car up to my personal preference. The whole part that effects the handling consists of....

6 point cage and full shell stitch weld for rigidity

Coilovers all round

uprated bushes where possible

gripper plate diff

have had the corner weights on the car and has a good balance front-back, left-right (well, as much as you can get with a fwd stripped car)

add that little lot to something that weighs 720kg and runs on pirelli rs inters and the fun to be had is immense. I've never had it worry me in the slightest regardless of what shape it pulls when right on the limit, a quick flick of the wheel in the right direction and she pulls straight and buckles down biggrin
